Charlie (Cha) Palmer
Clondalkin, Dublin / Castletown, Laois

Charlie Palmer – June 16th, 2023 (peacefully) at Tallaght University Hospital, while surrounded by his family. Charlie (Cha), pre-deceased by his wife Kathleen and much-loved father of Damien and Darren. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all his loving family, partner Margaret, brothers Podge, Tom, Finney and Richie, sisters-in-law, Damian’s partner Melissa and Darren’s partner Cheryl, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, Abbie, Lily, Logan and Amber, relatives, neighbours, friends and the Power family in Liverpool.

Charlie will repose at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, Monastery Road, Clondalkin (Eircode D22 K602) on Tuesday afternoon (June 20th) from 2pm to 4pm. Removal on Wednesday morning (June 21st) to the Church of the Presentation, Knockmitten, Clondalkin arriving for 11am Mass, followed thereafter to Churchtown Cemetery, Castletown, Co Laois arriving at 2pm approx.

Damian and Darren would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of both the William Stokes Ward at Tallaght University Hospital and Peamount Hospital for the wonderful care Charlie received during his illness. They would also like to thank all their family and friends for all their support during this difficult time.

Eileen Josephine Ward (née O’Keeffe)
Drumneen, Stradbally, Laois

Eileen died unexpectedly, but peacefully, at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, on Tuesday, 13th June, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Patrick Ward of Castleblayney, Monaghan and much loved mother of Gerard and Aileen. Sadly missed by her loving family, daughter-in-law Therese Ward, grandchildren Christopher, Caitlin, Brenden and Noah, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and extended family and kind neighbours and friends.

Eileen will be greatly missed by all.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Thursday (June 22nd) in The Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally followed by burial in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally.

Angela Moriarty (née Sweeney)
Strand Street, Tralee, Kerry/Portlaoise, Laois

Angela Moriarty nee Sweeney of Strand Street, Tralee, Co. Kerry and formerly Portlaoise, died peacefully on 17th June 2023, beloved wife of Declan, cherished mother of Eugene, Áine, Eamonn & Máiréad and dear sister of Nicky, Tony, Olive, David and the late Theresa & Martin.

Sadly missed by her loving family, her grandchildren Maggie, Edie, Éile, Cuan & Lizzie, nephews, nieces, sons-in-law Micheál & Murt, daughters-in-law Trish & Trish, relatives, neighbours and close friends.

Reposing at the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee on Monday (19th June) from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral arriving to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rathass, Tralee on Tuesday morning at 9.30 am where the Requiem Mass for Angela will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment afterwards in New Rath Lawn Cemetery, Tralee.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to St. Vincent’s Foundation- Liver Transplant Unit (www.stvincentsfoundation.ie/donate/), or care of the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee.

Annette Coghlan (née Daly)
South Circular Road, Dublin/Clonaslee, Laois

Annette Coghlan (née Daly) (Clonaslee and Dublin) 15th June 2023. Passed away peacefully, in Mount Hybla Nursing Home, Castleknock.

Predeceased by her husband Colm, son Donal, brothers Jim and Michael. Sadly missed by her loving children Tom, Declan, Anne, Fergus and Laura, her sister Sr. Kathleen and brothers John and Billy, grandchildren Amy, Hannah, Aislinn, Ross, Zak, Finn and Isabel, great-grandchildren Isla, Flora and Dara, her sisters-in-law Rosemary, Michelle and Maureen, daughters-in-law Bernie, Marina and Katrina, son-in-law Shane, many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbours and former colleagues in the Department of Health.

Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home, Lower Kimmage Road, D6W N279, on Sunday afternoon (June 18th) between 3pm and 5pm. Removal on Monday morning to the Church of St Thérèse and the Child Jesus, Donore Avenue for Funeral Mass at 10am which may be viewed on the parish web camera https://www.mcnmedia.tv/Camera/st-therese-of-the-child-jesus followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to all of the staff, for the wonderful care, kindness and friendship they extended to Annette, during her time at Mount Hybla Nursing Home.

Joey Bland
12 Oakglen, Stradbally, Laois

Joey passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Andy and Sam, his sister Stacey, brother in law Bryan, nephew Matt, aunts, uncles, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Joey will repose at his residence (R32 CC79) on Friday from 2pm until recital of the Rosary at 8pm on Friday evening. Removal by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Saturday morning at 11.30 to arrive at the Sacred Heart Church Stradbally for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in Oakvale Cemetery.

The Bland family would like to thank you for your support during this sad and difficult time and would also like to thank the doctors and nurses in ICU Department in Portlaoise Hospital for their wonderful help and support.

Deirdre O’Connor
Castleknock, Dublin/Laois

The death has occurred of Deirdre O’Connor, Castleknock and Ballinteer, Dublin. Passed peacefully, on 12th June 2023, surrounded by her family, in ICU in James Connolly Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.

Predeceased by her father Billy O’Connor (Emo village) and her mother Ann O’Connor nee Moss (Derrycloney, Mountmellick/Beechlawn Portlaoise). She will be very sadly missed and remembered with much love by her sisters Helen (Williams), Adrienne (O’Rourke) and Eimer (Doherty), nieces and nephews Amy, Niamh, Daniel, Clíodhna, Conor, Oisín and Aoife, her brothers in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, especially Cathy Molloy, colleagues and neighbours.

Reposing in Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Clonsilla, Dublin D15PY23, on Friday from 4pm until 6pm.

Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Saturday from 10am until removal at 10.45am to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
