132 Laois Community Groups awarded substantial Government funding

132 groups and organisations in Laois have been awarded Government funding under the Government Community Support Fund.

The news was confirmed by Laois TD, Sean Fleming, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

“I welcome the announcement of this funding by the Government for Laois groups and organisations,” Minister Fleming said.

“These grants will be a help to all of these community groups in Laois.

“This fund will support Laois community groups with their energy bills, improvements to their facilities, purchasing of sports equipment and much more.

“This will allow local organisations in Laois to continue the great work they do in their communities, providing sports and recreation to young and old.

“Well done to all of those community groups that have received funding today and I would like to thank all these groups in Laois for their great work at grassroots level,” the Minister said.

  • Abbeyleix (11)
  • Durrow (8)
  • Mountrath, Stradbally (7 each)
  • Mountmellick (6)
  • Rathdowney (5)
  • Ballacolla, Ballybrittas, Ballyfin, Borris-in-Ossory, Emo, Errill, The Swan (3 each)
  • Ballyroan, Barrowhouse, Camross, Castletown, Crettyard, Cullohill, Ratheniska, Shanahoe Timahoe, Vicarstown (2 each)
