Rory Deegan, Oldtown, Cullohill, Co. Laois, June 25th 2023 tragically in Zakynthos Greece. Predeceased by his infant sister Laura, his grandparents John and Mary Cullen, Marble Crest, Kilkenny and his aunt Agnes Hyland. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents Joe and Diane, brothers Conor, Barry, Ross, Jack and sister Rachael, his grandparents Donal and Margaret, his uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours, his large circle of friends and his beloved dog Spud.

Reposing at his home ( Eircode R32 C426 ) on Sunday July 2nd and Monday July 3rd. from 4 o’clock concluding with prayers at 8 o’clock both evenings. Removal on Tuesday morning July 4th to St. Tighearnach’s Church, Cullohill arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by interment in the adjoining Cemetery.

John (Sean) Seymour
3 Church St., Graiguecullen, Carlow / Graiguecullen, Laois

John (Sean) Seymour, 3 Church St., Griaguecullen, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on June 28th, 2023, in the loving care of the nurses and Staff at The Hillview Nursing Home, Tullow Rd., Carlow.

Cherished brother of Recie, Kathleen, Ann and the late Melvin.

He will be sadly missed by his loving sisters, brother-in-law Peter, sister-in-law Una, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Graiguecullen, on Tuesday, July 4th from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal on Wednesday at 9.45am to St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.

Patrick (Pat) Hughes
Kilnacash, The Rock, Mountmellick, Laois / Newbridge, Kildare / Tallaght, Dublin

Formerly of Newbridge, County Kildare and Tallaght, Dublin. Suddenly, but peacefully, after a short illness, bravely borne. Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Aida), parents Paddy Joe and Carmel, brothers Mick and Dave. Sadly missed by his loving sons Stephen and Alan, sisters Jean and Noelle, daughters-in-law Anita and Laura, grandsons Bobby, Riley and Olly, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence in Kilnacash, The Rock, Mountmellick (eircode R32 X8R6) on Sunday evening (2nd July) from 3pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning (3rd July) arriving St Paul’s Church, Emo, County Laois (eircode R32 RY16) for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Newlands Cross Cemetery, Dublin arriving at 1:30pm.

Séan Horan
Clonmel Road, Cahir, Tipperary, E21 DA24 / Portlaoise, Laois

Séan (formerly of Pallas, Portlaoise) died peacefully in the care of Waterford University Hospital. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Maura, sons Brendan, Enda and Conor, grandson Broin, sister Phil, brother Michael, daughters in law Mary and Louise, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home on Friday evening from 4pm to 8pm Funeral cortège will leave his home on Saturday morning at 11am to arrive at St Mary’s Church Cahir for Mass at 11.30am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Cahir Day Care Centre.

Parking will be available (at owners risk) at the old Boy’s School, Market St E21YY80 and at Bunscoil na Cathrach, Convent Rd E21 K304

Michael (Mick) Ging
Green Road, Portlaoise, Laois

28th June, 2023. Peacefully, surrounded by his family in the compassionate care of the doctors, nurses and staff at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. Mick will be sadly missed by his loving wife Breda, daughters Yvonne and Antoinette, sons Padraig and John, devoted grandchildren Jack, Aaron, Michael, Patrick, Sean, Jeremy, Owen, Alex, Oscar, Cian and Hannah, sons-in-law Gerhard and Philip, daughters-in-law Anna and Emi, brothers, sisters, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, friends and his former work colleagues at Portlaoise General Hospital

Reposing at his home on Sunday from 4.00p.m. until 8.00p.m. for family and close friends. House private at all other times, please.

Removal on Monday morning to St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12.00 noon, followed by burial in St. Peter and St. Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Emmaus Ballyroan Road, Abbeyleix, Laois / Mountrath, Laois / Carlow

Sagart, Monsignor. Formerly Trumera, Mountrath, Laois, Edenderry, Offaly and President of St. Patrick’s College, Carlow. Predeceased by his parents Liam (Billy) and Brigid and his siblings Barbara, Aengus and Siobhán. Cúis mhór bróin a bhás dá dheartháracha agus deirfiúracha Brenda, Diarmuid, Colm, Maria, Gráinne, Liam, Mairéad, Gertrude, Suzette agus Killian, nianna, gar-nianna ,neachtanna gar-neachtanna agus gaolta. Sincerely regretted by Bishop Denis Nulty and clergy of the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin.

Reception of Caoimhín’s remains will take place this Friday evening at 7pm in The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix, on Saturday at 11am. Caoimhín’s burial will take place in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

John Flanagan, Ballagh and formerly Castlefleming, Errill, Co. Laois, 25th June 2023. Peacefully, at Limerick Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary. Deeply regretted by his daughters Fiona and Catherine, sons-in law Jason and John, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home on Friday from 5pm with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, 1st July, at 11am in The Church of Our Lady Queen of The Universe, Errill, followed by burial in St. Kieran’s Cemetery, Errill.

Peadar Ivory
Drimatterill, Ballinakill, Laois

Peadar resided at Sawbridgeworth, London and died peacefully in St. Clare’s Hospice Harlow England, after a short illness. Predeceased by his father Peter and brother John Paul. Deeply regretted by his wife Beverly and loving daughter Megan, mother Margaret, sisters Michelle, Sharon and Mairead, brothers in law Andy and Martin, uncles, aunts, niece Holly, nephews Shane, Jake and Peter. Peadar will be cremated in England. Mass for Peadar will take place at a later date in Ballinakill, to be announced.
