Passed suddenly. Very sadly missed by her heartbroken family, her father Donal, her mother Mary, her sister Claire, her brothers Rory and Brian, her partner Liam, her beloved dogs Louis and Athena, her extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her home in Pembroke  Terrace Abbeyleix. House  strictly private. Removal to The Church Of The Most Holy Rosary Abbeyleix  at 11.45 am. on Wednesday for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery  Abbeyleix.

Ethel Wardrop (née Goodwin)
Foxcroft Street, Portarlington, Laois

Unexpectedly at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Beloved wife of the late Ian and loving mother of Daphne, Trevor, Ken and Clive.

Sadly missed by all her family, brothers Archie and David, sons-in-law Maurice and Will, daughters-in-law Patricia and Ann Marie,
grandchildren Jessica, Zoe, Reece, Chloe, Ethan, Ian, Paige, Pippa, Glen and Clive, great-grandchildren Reuben, Megan, Lleyton, Ivy and Graeson, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, her relatives and many friends.

Reposing at her son Trevor’s house Bella Vista, Foxcroft Street, Portarlington (eircode R32 HD62) on Tuesday evening (July 11th) from 5pm until 8pm. Removal on Wednesday afternoon (July 12th) at 1:40pm arriving St Paul’s Church, French Church Street, Portarlington for Funeral Service at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Patrick Joseph (Pat) Brennan
Coolane, Killeshin, Carlow, R93 DT26/Killeshin, Laois

Predeceased by his loving wife Josephine Brennan, née Cantwell.

Pat died peacefully on July 8th, surrounded by his family and in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of The Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow.

Beloved father of Declan, Sinéad, Pauric and Oliver.  Sadly missed by his family, brother Liam, sisters Kathleen, Maura, and Anne, son-in-law Declan, daughters-in-law Karen, Amanda, and Carol, his eight grandchildren Ruairí, Aisling, Óran, Seán, Rían, Oisín, Conor and Dáire, and his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, nieces nephews, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at his home, Coolane, Killeshin, (R93 DT26) from 2p.m on Monday, concluding with Prayers at 9p.m. that evening. Reposing on Tuesday from 11am with removal on at 1.30p.m to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 2p.m.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of St Vincent’s Community Nursing Unit, Mountmellick. Predeceased by her parents John and Bridget, brother  John and sister Mary. Deeply regretted by her loving brothers Michael, Patrick and Christy, sisters-in-law Joan, Catherine and Noreen, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington on Sunday evening from 6:30pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Monday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

Gertrude (Gertie) Cox, The Square, Mountmellick passed away peacefully in her 92nd year July 8th 2023. Predeceased by her loving husband Victor. Sadly missed by her daughter Sandra, and her son Ivor and her daughter-in-law Brigid, grandchildren Alastair, Christopher, and Leigh Ann, her dear sister Doreen and her husband Cecil Lewis (Portlaoise) and her brother Eric (Canada) and her devoted friend Olive,her family friends and neighbours.

Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick on Sunday from 5pm Prayer Service at 6.30pm. Reposing in the Funeral Home on Monday from 1pm with Prayer Service at 1:30pm. Removal at 1.40pm to St Paul’s Church via The Square arriving for Funeral Service at 2pm Burial after in the adjoining churchyard.

James (Jim) O’Connell, 7 Erkina Court, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. 7th July 2023. Peacefully at home. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen and son Christopher, his brothers John and Bill, sister Mary and his parents.

Sadly mourned by his loving family Carol, Breda, Mary, Fran, Seamus, Michael and Edward, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his daughters residence 7 Erkina Court, Rathdowney, Co. Laois R32 XR29 on Sunday, 9th July, from 4pm with Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Monday 10th July at 11am in The Church of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney followed by interment in Bealady cemetery. House Private on Monday morning. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Laois/Offaly Palliative Care.

Bridget passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Paddy and her brothers Michael, John and Andy. Deeply regretted by her loving sons John and Andrew, daughters Liz (Jago), Kathleen (Sheridan) and Bernie and her loving grandchildren Sean, Oisín, Orla, Ruairi, Cormac, Eoghan, Kate, Sarah, Ella, Clodagh and Thomas, sisters Frances (Tierney) and Liz (Mahoney), sons-in-law Tom and Joe, daughters-in-law Alina and Siobhan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

In his 79th year. Predeceased by his infant son Michael, his parents James and Sarah (nee Likely). Deeply regretted by his heartbroken partner Anna,  his daughters Sandra, Lynda, Tracey, Pamela and his son Gerard, their mother Sally and his grandchildren and great grandchild, his brothers Pat and Gerard his sisters Anne and Breedge, extended family, neighbours, relatives and a very large circle of friends and his beloved dog Jack.

Reposing at his home 1 Rathmoyle Road, Abbeyleix on Saturday, July the 8th, from 2pm, with Rosary at 8pm. Removal from his home on Sunday at 10.30.am. to the Church of  The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix for 11am. Requiem Mass. Cremation service will take place on Monday at 12 noon in Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin.
