Mary Townsend (née Hickey)
The Course, Durrow, Laois

Mary passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness borne with courage and dignity.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Albert, her sons Fred and Albert, her daughters Patricia (Trish), Antoinette and her predeceased children, her sons in law Donal and David, her daughters in law Liz and Teresa.

Cherished “Granny Mary” to her 12 grandchildren Hope, Zara, Daniel, Abbi, Aislinn, Darragh, Cian, Liam, Robyn, Ciara, Shane and Danielle her cousins and a wide circle of friends.  Predeceased by her younger brother Edward (Neddy).

Reposing at her son Fred’s residence (Eircode R32 F9KH), The Course, Durrow, Co. Laois on Sunday 16th July 2023 from 3pm concluding with recital of Rosary at 8pm.

Removal on Monday to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Durrow for Requiem Mass at 12pm with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Liam Galvin
Gort Na Rí, Ennis, Clare/Portlaoise, Laois

Liam Galvin, Gort Na Rí, Ennis, Co. Clare and formerly of Grattan Street, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. 15th July 2023 (peacefully) at Ennis Hospital.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Kay, children Mark, Stephen and Netty, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers Aidan, Brian and Alan, son-in-law Ed, daughters-in-law Sue and Claire, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements: Reposing at Kennedy’s Funeral Home, Ennis on Sunday (16th July) from 4.30 pm with removal at 5.30 pm to Ennis Cathedral.

Funeral Mass on Monday (17th July) at 10 am, followed by cremation service at Shannon Crematorium at 12 noon. No flowers please, donations if desired to Irish Cancer Society or St. Vincent De Paul.

Upper, Ballyfin, Laois

Peacefully at the Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Deeply regretted by his loving partner Caroline, brother Dirk, sister Tanja, brother-in-law Peter, sister-in-law Dirma, his nieces and nephews Esther, Johanna, Jonathan, Christopher, Andrew, Mark, Ravik, Emma and Norah, Caroline’s children Paddy, Clodagh and Tara, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

A Cremation Service for Frans will be held on Monday at 2.30pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium, Ballymount Road, Dublin 24 (D24 K1CY).

Portlaoise, Co. Laois and formerly Killenaule, Co. Tipperary.  Late of Brooks Thomas.  July 13th 2023. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. In the loving care of the staff of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home. Dearly loved husband to Maude.

Loving father to Michelle and Anne. Cherished and adored  grandfather to Emma and David. Deeply regretted by his son in law Seamus, brother Michael, sisters in law. Joan and Eileen, brothers in law John and Eddie, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.  Predeceased by his sisters Joan, Mary, Eileen and Claire and brother Martin.

Reposing at his residence on Friday from 5 pm with rosary at 8 pm.  Removal on Saturday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 1 pm mass. Mass may be viewed on  https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/ Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Portlaoise.

Formerly of Avondale, Portarlington, County Offaly. Suddenly. Sadly missed by her loving parents Pat and Anne, brother Gavin and his wife Natalie, sister Lauren and her partner Carl, niece Clíodhna and nephew Oisín, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at the family home in Avondale, Portarlington (eircode R32 R284) on Friday evening from 4p until 9pm. Family and friends are welcome to call outside of reposing time.

Removal on Saturday morning at 10:20am arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.
