The fixtures for Round 2 of the Laois senior hurling championship are now confirmed following the conclusion of Round 1.
In a bid to avoid dead rubbers in Round 3 of the groups, Laois GAA decided to only decide Round 2 and Round 3 following the outcome of Round 1.
The winners of the Round 1 games in each group will play each other and the losers will do likewise.
In Group A, Rathdowney-Errill will play Rosenallis where the winner will almost be guaranteed top spot and a semi final place.
While defending champions Clough-Ballacolla and The Harps will also meet where the loser will almost certainly head for the relegation decider.
In Group B, Camross will face Abbeyleix with the same prize as Group A almost certainly on the line for the winner.
While Castletown and Borris-Kilcotton will also meet where the loser again will almost certainly face the relegation final.
The Round 2 games are scheduled for the August Bank Holiday weekend with Round 3 two weeks later.
