It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Edward Broderick, fondly known as Ned Bruder, Woodlands House, Ballickmoyler, Co. Laois, formerly of Fallaghmore, Ballyadams, Co. Laois.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his daughter Julie, parents Molly and Charlie, stepfather Jamesie, brother Louis and sisters Brigid and Breda. Deeply regretted by his wife Pauline, daughters Mary, Anne, Claire and Una, grandchildren Charlie, Alice, Joshua, Georgia, Jeffrey, Molly, James and Harry, son-in-law Ivan, Mary’s partner Willie, Anne’s partner John, sisters Madge, Mary Ann and Joan, relatives, kind neighbours and many, many friends.

Geraldine Dunne, England and formerly of Castletown, Co. Laois. July 26th 2023. Predeceased by her Father Tim. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her mother Collette, her sons Connor and Robbie, her brothers Larry, Gerry and her twin brother David, her sister Bernie (Gaughan), uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, Geraldine’s extened family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Geraldine’s funeral service and cremation will take place this Thursday (Aug 17th) in England.

Br Ciaran (Jeremiah) Creedon
Castletown, Laois, R32NX40 / Macroom, Cork

Br. Ciaran (Jeremiah), Creedon, De La Salle Brothers, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Late of Barrathanaknock, Clondrohid, Macroom, Co. Cork. August 14th 2023. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Hannah, brothers Timothy and John, sister Siobhan and her daughter Mary (Buckley). Deeply regretted by his brother Frank, sister in law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews, extended family, relatives, past pupils, friends and especially by his confreres in religion and the staff in Miguel House.

Reposing in Miguel House this Tuesday (Aug. 15th) from 11am with evening prayers and rosary at 7 pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday (Aug. 16th) at 2pm in the Monastery Chapel with burial immediately afterwards in the Monastery Cemetery.

Betty Young
Avolia, Mountmellick, Laois

Betty Young, of Grove Park Mountmellick and formerly Avolia, Mountmellick, passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick.

Beloved wife of the late Eamonn and sister of the late James and Sean. Also predeceased by her dear friend Seamus.

Betty will be sadly missed by her loving family, her son Albert, and her daughters, Lorraine and Joan. Her sisters,Mary Lewis (Essex) and Josie Regan (Manchester). Her daughter-in-law Nora, and her sons in law, Mike and Alan.Her adored grandchildren Tom, Amie, Albert Jr, Izobel,Emma, Alayna, Jill and her Great-grandson Rory ,Tom and Amies mum Irene. Her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and her large circle of friends, especially her dear friend Margaret Kenna.

Reposing in Moloneys Funeral Home,Mountmellick, on Monday from 5pm. Recital of the rosary at 6.30pm. Removal Tuesday morning at 10.45am to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Portlaoise. Mass will be streamed live on www.mountmellickparish.ie.
