Vincent Coffey, Oldcourt, Clough, Ballacolla, Co. Laois. 20th August 2023. Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Predeceased by his wife Pauline (nee Moore) and his brothers and sisters (Coffey and Kenehan families). Sadly mourned by his loving family, sons P.J., Anthony and Kevin and his daughter Linda, sadly missed by his seven adored grandchildren Shane, Cian, Caoimhe, Darragh, Ava, Polly and Michéal, daughters-in-law Elizabeth and Vicky, son-in-law Fint, brothers Denis and Tony and sister Angela, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his daughter Linda’s residence (R32 YOX3) on Tuesday evening from 4pm with rosary at 8pm. Funeral mass in St. Canice’s Church, Clough at 12 noon on Wednesday, 23rd August, followed by burial in Clough Cemetery. Family flowers only. Kathleen O’GRADY (née Donnelly)
Graiguecullen, Carlow / Crettyard, Laois

Kathleen O’Grady (née Donnelly) formerly Oakley Crescent, Graiguecullen, Carlow and London and originally Farnans, Crettyard, Co. Laois, August 18th 2023 in the care of  Beechwood Nursing Home, Leighlinbridge in her 95th year. Sadly missed by her loving son John, extended family, relatives and friends.

May Kathleen Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass on Thursday (August 24th) at 10am in St. Abban’s Church, Doonane (R93 AT86) followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Ballymun, Dublin / Portmarnock, Dublin / Ballacolla, Laois

Formerly of Ballymun and Portmarnock Dublin and Ballacolla County Laois. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by Sally (Gibbons), mother Mary May, brother Michael, sister Imelda, grandchild Katie. Sadly missed by his loving family Edward, Ciaran, Tony and Tara and their partners Elaine, Celine and Claire, grandchildren Andrew, Nicole, Ryan, Stephen Mollie, Mia, Sophie, Ella, Aeisha, Nyan, Adison and Nate, great-grandchild Lottie, sister-in-law Kathleen, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Tuesday evening, 22nd August, from 7pm until 8pm.

A Celebration of Eddie’s life will take place in Dardistown Crematorium on Wednesday, 23rd August, at 12:30pm which can be viewed on

The death has occurred of Michael “the bike man” Ryan of the Commons, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Formerly of Timahoe Donadea, Co. Kildare and Coill Dubh, Naas, Co. Kildare.

Passed away peacefully on the 18th August in Portlaoise General Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Deeply missed and loved by his wife Valerie, sons Kevin and Justin, son-in-law Matthew, brother Sean, sister Mary, loving grandsons Paul and Michael, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, this Monday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Reposing Tuesday from 12 noon until removal at 1pm to Newlands Crematorium for Cremation Service at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to ISPCC.

Declan Daly, 44 Rathgailine, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and formerly of Killucan Co. Westmeath passed away peacefully, on August 18th 2023, at Tullamore Regional Hospital. Retired Irish Prison Service. Predeceased by his wife Carmel. Deeply regretted by his sons Declan and Derek, daughters-in-law Jen and Gráinne, his grandsons Rian, Tiernan, Fionn, Kai and Kayden. Deeply regretted by his loving family, sisters Ena and Carrie, brother Ciaran, relatives and friends.

Reposing Moloneys Funeral Home Mountmellick on Tuesday evening from 5pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6.30pm. Funeral arriving SS Peter and Paul’s Church Portlaoise on Wednesday for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial after in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.

Peter Frawley, Lynden Court, Portlaoise. 18th August 2023. Peacefully after a short illness at Portlaoise Regional Hospital. Loving son of Nancy and the late Tom. Deeply regretted by his sister Sylvia Deevy, and brother John, brother in law Pat, sister in law Tanya, his family, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his sister’s residence at Borris Little on Sunday from 5 pm with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Monday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.

Catherine (Kitty) Dempsey (née O’Brien)
Forest House, Mountmellick, Laois/Rahan, Offaly

Passed away peacefully in the excellent care of the staff in Brookhaven Nursing Home Ballyraggett, Co. Kilkenny.

Predeceased by her husband Sean, her sisters Mary Jo and Bernie and her brother John.

Sadly missed by her family Mary, Bernie, John, Joan, Anthony and Michael, sons-in-law Liam and Paul, daughter-in-law Ursula, grandchildren, Sarah, Nate, Jenny, Michael, Joan, Kevin, Georgina, Hannah, James, Leonora, Ania, Grace, Robyn, Patrick, Harry and Charlotte, great grandchildren Finley and Oliver, her sister Rita and brother Joseph, sister-in-law Kathleen, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
