Two Laois students have scored top marks as the Leaving Cert 2023 results have been announced this morning.
Scoil Chriost Ri’s Niamh Conroy notched 625 points – scoring all H1s.
While her classmate Sophie MacNamara came out with an amazing total of 602.
Niamh hails from Emo and is hoping to go on and study Pharmacy in University College Cork.
While Sophie is from Portlaoise and she hopes to go to UCD to study Philosphy, Politics and Economics.
Their school tweeted their congratulations to them and all of their students this morning.
They said: “Congratulations to all Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied students of 2023 on their outstanding results.
“Every best wish on the next steps in your future endeavours.”
More than 1,100 Laois students are among the 61,700 in the country to receive their Leaving Certificate results this morning.
Back in June, 1,108 Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied students sat their exams in Laois.
Students are receiving their results earlier than was the case last year.
