Portlaoise Athletics Club building from the ground up

Portlaoise Athletics Club has a strong and proud history in the town.

With over 100 juvenile members, the club is continuing to go from strength to strength.

The club provides juvenile training from the age of eight to 18 years, as well as senior training.

With a strong history in cross country, Portlaoise AC also have athletes who run for fun and fitness, track and field, and marathons.

This year, the club have a team of nine athletes participating in both the Dublin and Amsterdam marathons.

“Running is an excellent source of fitness,” a club representative said.

“With strength and conditioning sessions, and professionally coached track sessions, Portlaoise Athletics Club can support you on starting your running journey – or improving your running.

“Whatever you need, Portlaoise AC will endeavour to provide the right environment for all our members.”

Sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursday:

  • Senior: 5.30pm – 6.45pm
  • Juvenile: 6.45pm – 7.45pm
  • Senior: 7.45pm – 9pm
