Local Enterprise Office Laois hosting ‘an event not to be missed’ in Mountrath

The Local Enterprise Office Laois is holding a drop in clinic next week in Mountrath to help local businesses become more savvy.

The organisers expect a huge crowd for the clinic, which will take place Tuesday, October 10, from 10am to 4pm in Bloom HQ in Mountrath.

The clinic will be one of a series of Rural Business Advice Clinics, is organised in conjunction with Mountrath Town Team.

It will provide one-on-one time with a Business Advisor to:

  • discuss and ask questions;
  • learn about the advantages of training and mentoring;
  • learn about grants and schemes available to help support small businesses.

At the meeting in Mountrath, Mark Clancy, Business Advisor in the Local Enterprise Office Laois, spoke about some of the schemes available that can make a difference to small businesses

These include digitising; web skills; and improving Google listing.

Mr Clancy spoke about a suite of new supports, including:

  • The Implementation Fund – which helps businesses to recognise where they can make changes;
  • Green for Business – which helps small businesses in becoming more sustainable.

The Mountrath Town Team, chaired by Mr Mark Sheeran, was recently reformed with a goal to revitalise the Town Centre and bring new life to to the town.

The committee, comprised of representatives from all the local community groups, is focusing on projects which will promote the social and economic revival of Mountrath Town Centre, including the drop in clinic.

Mr Sheeran, a successful local businessman, counts the Local Enterprise Office Laois for his success:

“CJ Sheeran was supported in its infancy by LEO and without the support, mentoring and help it would not exist today,” he said.

“I can’t speak highly enough of Laois Enterprise Office, and if it’s only for a chat with your entrepreneurial ideas, this is an event not to be missed.”
