€25,000 allocated for walking tracks around two Laois GAA clubs

Spink GAA and Arles-Kilcruise GAA have been awarded a total of €25,000 under the Healthy Ireland GAA Walking Tracks initiative.

The funding is split with €15,000 going to Spink and €10,000 going to Kilcruise.

This Government funding will go towards upgrading and developing walking tracks in the local communities.

This will make them more inclusive, promote physical activity and enhance the overall health and wellbeing facilities in the communities of Spink and Arles.

Welcoming the news, Laois TD Sean Fleming said it will help both to upgrade their facilities.

He said: “This is good news for these two communities in Laois.

“This Government funding will help to develop the Club facilities and also make them more accessible to the local community for recreational use.

“It is always good to go for a walk, for your physical and mental health and also to help clear the mind.

“These walking tracks will be a great addition for the community to do this.”
