John Paul Kinsella of “Oakwood”, Crossneen, Carlow, Laois, passed away unexpectedly on October 30th, 2023, at his home

Beloved son of Eamonn and the late Brigid (Brenda) and much loved brother of Keith, Colm, Brendan and David.

He will be sadly missed by his loving father, brothers, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements later.

Claire Mitchell (née Whelan)
Quinaltagh, Garrafrauns, Dunmore, Galway/Portlaoise, Laois

Mitchell (nee Whelan), Claire, Quinaltagh, Garrafrauns, Dunmore, Co. Galway, & formerly Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Suddenly, but peacefully.

Deeply regretted by her husband of sixty-one years, Joe, her children Anne (Peter), John (Sheila), Claire (Peter), Fr. Francis, Helena (Eamonn), Stewart (Heather), her eleven grandchildren, sisters Julia Dooley (Portlaoise) and Peggy Hyland (Portlaoise), sisters-in-law Babs Whelan (Portlaoise) and Kitty Whelan (Kildare), nieces, nephews, good neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home (H54 PY60) from 5.00 p.m. on Wednesday (visitors welcome), and in Glynn’s Funeral Home, Dunmore (H54 NY61) on Friday, 3rd of November, from 6 p.m. to  8 p.m.  Removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Garrafrauns (H54 WK83).  Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12.00 noon, with burial afterwards in Adrigoole Cemetery.

Derry Neale
Hollypark, Crettyard, Carlow/Crettyard, Kilkenny/Crettyard, Laois

Derry Neale, October 29th 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, surrounded by his loving family, following an illness bravely fought.

Beloved husband of Jackie and much loved father of Scott, Rebecca, Abbey, Simon and Sam and cherished son of Sylvia and the late Willie. Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, sons, daughters, mother, brother Billy, sisters Wendy, Stephanie and Avril, mother-in-law Susan Delahunt, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncle, aunt, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service on Thursday (Nov. 2nd) at 2pm in Mayo Church, Crettyard (R93 R621). Burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard. House private at all times, please.

Family flowers only, donation in lieu to Mayo Church or the Oncology Unit, Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny.

The family wish to thank most sincerely St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, University Hospital Waterford, Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny, the Community Palliative Team, Dr. Prasad and all the friends and neighbours for all the care and support throughout.

Seán Reynolds
Navan, Meath/Portarlington, Laois/Newbridge, Kildare

Reynolds Seán late of Navan and Portarlington passed away peacefully on October 31st surrounded by his loving family.

Much loved husband to Máire, dad to Fiona, Aoife and Donal, pappy to Síofra, Liam, Róisín, Aislinn and Saoirse. Son to Rita and the late Jimmy Reynolds. Missed by his family, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sisters and brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his daughter Aoife’s residence, Allenview Heights, Newbridge on Thursday, 2nd November, from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral at 10am on Friday, 3rd November, at Newlands Cross Crematorium. Service will be live streamed on https://www.dctrust.ie/location/newlands-cross/chapel-webstream.html

With great sadness, I share that – when the time was right – my dear husband Colm Kelly (1950 – 2023) was taken to his eternal home where he is rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Saviour who saved him by his grace.

He will be greatly by his wife Annelies and his family and friends.

Memorial Service at Newbridge Bible Fellowship Church (eircode W12 CK00) on Friday, 3rd November, at 11am.

Cremation Committal Service to take place afterwards.

Darren O` Neill, on 29th October 2023, Suddenly at his home, Church road Graiguecullen.

Predeceased by his parents Rita and Owen who died on the 11th May 2023.

Sadly missed by his sister Lisa, brother in law, Nieces, Cousins, Aunt, Relatives and Friends.

Reposing in Lacey`s Funeral Home, John street (R93H684)  on Wednesday November 1st from 3pm until 7pm.

Removal on Thursday morning at 10.40am to St Clares Church Graiguecullen arriving for 11 o`clock Requiem Mass.

Burial immediately afterwards in Sleaty new Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed on St Clare`s Church, Graiguecullen, online streaming service

Fintan Walsh
Rathfarnham, Dublin/Ballylinan, Laois

Peacefully, in St James’ Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.  Retired teacher in St Mary’s School, Rathfarnham. Predeceased by his infant son Maurice.

Beloved husband of Máirín, adored father of Adrian and Niamh, and devoted grandad of Finn, Áine, Maya, Julia, Ronan and Mary-Kate.

Fintan will be deeply missed and remembered always by his loving family, his daughter-in-law Niamh, his son-in-law Danny, his brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

James (Jim) Bertie
Ballybrittas, Laois/Howth, Dublin

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Bertie, Ballybrittas, Co. Laois and formerly Howth, Co. Dublin. Peacefully, at the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore (in his 91st year), following a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Pre-deceased by his loving wife Pauline and parents James and Ada. Jim will be sadly missed by children Irene, Lorraine, Norman, Pamela, Audrey and Laura, his thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Heffernans Funeral Home, High Street, Trim, Co. Meath C15 HDT1 on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.  A celebration of Jim’s life will take place in Newlands Cross Crematorium on Thursday at  2.30pm which can be viewed on https://www.dctrust.ie/location/newlands-cross/chapel-webstream.html

Michael Byrne late of “The Forge”, Ballickmoyler and Brighton, England, passed away peacefully, on October 21st, 2023 at Royal Sussex Co. Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Kathy, sister Annie, brother Noel, Danny and Frank.

Beloved father of Rita (Brighton), Michael (Australia), Tony (Carlow), adored grandfather of Jessica, Dean, Vera, Charlie, Mikela, Toni-Ann and James, cherished brother of Peter and Noeleen and much loved father-in-law of Karen.

He will be sadly missed by his loving children, grandchildren, his 3 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law Pat, his exceptional friends Mikie, Gary, Stella and Joan, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
