Mary McGrath (née Kennedy)
Terenure, Dublin / Mountrath, Laois

McGRATH (née Kennedy) Mary (Josie), late of Mountrath, Co.Laois and Terenure, Dublin. 1st December 2023, (Peacefully) in Tallaght Hospital, surrounded by her loving sons. Beloved wife of the late Thomas and loving mother to John, Tom and Seamus. Pre-deceased by daughter-in-law Catherine. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters-in-law Mary, Margaret and Kathleen, grandchildren Paul, Stephen, John, Claire, Tom, Conor, Sarah and Matthew, great-grandchildren Ben, Oscar and Luke, niece Judith, extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours.

The McGrath family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Lisheen Nursing Home Rathcoole and Tallaght Hospital for the wonderful care given to Mary.

Mary will be reposing on Wednesday from 4pm-6pm at the Larry Massey Funeral Home 100 Terenure Road North. Removal on Thursday morning to St. Pius X Church College Drive, Templeogue arriving for 10am mass. Funeral immediately afterwards to Bohernabreena Cemetery.

The death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of Willie Coll, Hillhead, St Johnston, Co Donegal, F93 N2EC

Lovingly missed by his wife Kathleen, his sons and daughters, Bishop Niall, Gerard, Annemarie Rafferty and Caitriona, son-in-law Colm, brother Neil, sister Mary McDade, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews cousins, extended family and friends.

Willie will be reposing at his late residence from tomorrow Sunday 3rd December from 12 noon to 10pm with Rosary at 9pm and on Monday 4th December from 11am to 10pm with rosary at 9pm

Funeral leaving his late residence on Tuesday morning at 11.20am going to St Baithin’s Church, St Johnston for 12 noon Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to The Society of St Vincent de Paul and Medical 4 Ward Patients Comfort Fund c/o Kelly’s Funeral Directors, Oakfield, Raphoe.

Mary Brennan (née Kelly) of Upper Rossmore, Killeshin, Carlow, passed away peacefully, on December 2nd, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, at her home.

Beloved wife of the late Michael, much loved mother of John, Josie, Sarah, Pat, Michael, Thomas, Seamus, Liam, Martin, Eamon, Marie and Paul and cherished sister of the late Tom, Martin, Mick, Pat, Johnny, Willie, Ned and Josie.

She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister-in-law Lil, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Carpenters Funeral Home, Shamrock Square, Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) on Sunday, December 3rd, from 2pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Monday at 12.30pm to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Maureen (Mollie) Clooney (née Saunders)

The death has taken place of Maureen (Mollie) Clooney (née Saunders), Cross, Aghaboe, Ballacolla, Co.Laois. Peacefully on the 1st December 2023, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, in her 96th year, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Jim and her brothers Seán and Bobby. Sadly missed by her son John, daughters Mary and Noreen, sister Bridie, daughter-in-law Catherine, sons-in-law Seán and Reggie, grandchildren Jonathan, Ciarán, Ciara and Aoife and great-grandson Finn, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Reposing at her home (Eircode R32X2H5) on Sunday 3rd December from 2.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Monday morning to St. Canice’s Church Clough (Eircode R32K003), for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in Aghaboe Cemetery.

Gerard Hyland
Station Road, Portarlington, Laois

Suddenly at his residence. Beloved son of the late Laurence (Sonny) and Mary Hyland. Deeply regretted by his loving sister Joan, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington on Sunday evening from 5:30pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

Tommy Knowles
Slatt Lower, The Swan, Wolfhill, Laois, R14EA32

Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at his residence.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary and brothers John and Willie. Tommy will be very sadly missed by his heartbroken and loving family, wife Patricia, children Lorraine, Philip, Pauline and Tracey, grandchildren Adam, Grace, Kyle, Tommy, Finn, Addie, Ella and Harry, daughter-in-law Anne-Marie, sons-in-law JJ, Eoin and Wesley, brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives , friends and his dog Monty.

Reposing at his residence (R14EA32) on Saturday afternoon (Dec 2nd) from 2.30pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8.30pm. Removal on Sunday afternoon to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Wolfhill for Requiem Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
