All roads lead to the Square Bar as inaugural QuizCast champion set to be crowned

LaoisToday QuizCast Final

After weeks of build up, the LaoisToday QuizCast will reach a finale tomorrow (Friday) evening in the Square Bar in Portlaoise.

The general sports knowledge quiz has seen 16 initial contestants whittled down to four for the finale, which will consist of two semi-finals and a final at a live event in the Square Bar.

The four to make it to this stage of the competition are Murt Norton from Clonad, Jack Scully from Portlaoise, Brian Hogan from Courtwood and Colin Delaney from Clonad, who came through a playoff earlier this week after original qualifier Gavin Deering was forced to withdraw.

All four will be joined by a group of supporters with our quizmaster Mark Comerford set to put them through their paces in a format similar to what has been used in the Round of 16 and quarter-finals.

To add to the occasion, some of the beaten candidates from the earlier rounds will be back to take part in ‘The Senior B’, as part of Team Alan or Team Steven.

The event is free to attend and there is an open invitation to the LaoisToday audience.

The action gets underway at 8pm with live music afterwards from Wildfire.
