Laois Ladies elect new County Board with Pat O’Sullivan at the helm

Laois Ladies have elected a brand new county board for the 2024 season following a meeting of the clubs last night.

Park-Ratheniska’s Pat O’Sullivan has been appointed as chairperson with Portlaoise’s Olga Loughman to serve as vice-chair.

Eimear O’Connor of Mountrath is the new treasurer while Portlaoise’s Jenny Fitzpatrick is the secretary.

St Conleth’s Sile Burbage is the PRO while Sarsfields’ Rachel Williams is the Irish & Cultural Officer.

Declan Fenlon of St Brigid’s is the new Registrar while Ballyfin’s Kirsten Dunphy is Assistant Treasurer.

Former Laois keeper Fergal Byron is the Development Officer and Portlaoise’s Thelma Brown is the Children’s Officer.

Newly appointed chairperson Pat O’Sullivan thanked all the people who came forward to support and become part of the executive.

He also acknowledged that some people couldn’t’ commit at this time as he thanked them for considering a role.

Pat went on to thank all the clubs of Laois for their positive approach and eagerness to push on now with the matters in hand.

The outgoing county committee were again thanked for their time and work and wished into the future.

The new year will see the assembling of some critical committees and he hoped clubs would come forward to form part of those.

These committees will vary from day to day issues and also long term planning with some high profile Laois people willing to come on board.

Before the meeting concluded particular thanks was expressed to  sponsors The Killeshin hotel for their sponsorship of the county teams and LOETB who sponsor the club championships for all age groups and hoped the new executive could work well with them both in the future.

Finally, and by no means least, the Chairperson acknowledged JP and Noreen McManus and family for their generous donatior the Ladies Football clubs of Laois.
