Dan Duggan
Dublin Rd, Portlaoise, Laois

Dan Duggan, Dublin Road, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Died peacefully on 28th December 2023 in the loving care of the staff of Ballard Lodge Nursing home in the presence of his family.

Dearly loved husband of recently deceased Maggie and father to Ann, John (R.I.P), Liam, Cyril and Noeleen. Lovingly missed by sons-in-law Eamonn and Barry, daughters in law Anna, Marie and Angela, his beloved grandchildren; Eoghan, Kevin, Shane, Darragh, Erica, Ronan, Emma, Cian, Caoimhe, Ríona, Cathal, Róisín, Sinéad and great-grandchild Arthur.

Also sadly missed by his brother Fintan, sister Mary, Aunt Chrissie, nephews, nieces, cousins, his former colleagues in St Fintan’s Hospital and his many friends. Predeceased by his loving son John, his brother Bill and sisters Nora and Ann.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise on this Friday evening from 6p.m. with rosary at 8p.m.Removal from his residence at 11.30 am Saturday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem mass.

Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. Condolences may be left in the section below. House private on Saturday morning.

 

Andrew McCann
Rose Cottage, Ballymorris, Portarlington, Laois

Formerly of Conisborough, South Yorkshire, England. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his parents Donal and Edith and sister Denise. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Catherine, son Alasdair, daughter Hannah, sister Elaine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington, on Friday evening from 6:30pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 10:20am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

Frank O’Loughlin, St Brigid’s Place, Portlaoise, Co Laois/Coolfin, Rathdowney, Co Laois. Passed away peacefully in the loving care of Birr Community Nursing Unit on 28th December 2023.

Retired Telecommunications Technician with Telecom Éireann

Predeceased by his parents PJ and Mary(Molly) and his brothers John and Danny.

Deeply regretted by his wife Leigh. His daughters Nicola, Fiona and Emma, sons Stuart and Lloyd, grandchildren Adam and Isabelle, Lavanna, Leigh, Thorrin, Ocean, Ben, Sophie and Max, Nathaniel and Abigail – Maebh, Ruby and Lucy, sisters Betty and Patricia, brothers Brendan, Barry and Wally.

Reposing in his daughter Emma’s residence R42 HW52 Saturday, 30th December, from 12 to 8pm.

Removal from his daughters residence on Sunday 31st December at 12.30pm to arrive in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Collins Lane, Tullamore, Co Offaly, RX35 Y2W5 for funeral service at 2pm.

Followed by private cremation in Shannon Crematorium. Donations if desired to Birr Community Nursing Unit or Family Carers Ireland.

Raheenabrogue, Ballyroan, Laois

Peacefully in the care of the staff of St. Pauls Ward St. Vincents Hospital, Mountmellick. Predeceased by his wife Edna, parents John and Elizabeth, brothers Joe and Tom and sister Lily.

Deeply regretted by his brothers John, Billy, Pad and Martin, sisters Mary, Emily and Tina, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and his community in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick, relatives and friends.

Reposing in the Chapel of Rest adjoining the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix on Thursday from 5.30 pm. with prayers at 7pm. Funeral arriving to St.Patrick’s Church, Ballyroan for 11am. Requiem Mass on Friday. Cremation afterwards in Newlands Cross Crematorium Dublin at 2pm.

Michael (Mick) O’Neill
Emmet Terrace, Mountmellick, Laois

Michael (better known as Mick) Emmet Terrace, Mountmellick, died as a result of an accident on December 23rd 2023. Beloved son of the late Tom and Sarah.

Former employee of Denny’s Mountmellick. Deeply regretted by his loving family, neighbours, relatives and his many friends.

Reposing in his home on Tuesday 26th (St Stephen’s Day) from 4pm with recital of The Rosary at 7pm. Reposing on Wednesday 27th from 2pm with recital of The Rosary at 4.30pm.

Removal from his home at 5.15pm to St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick arriving for 6pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium Dublin (D6W HY98).

Elizabeth Curran (née Haughney)
Beechmount Road, Highfield Park, Galway City, Galway/Crettyard, Laois

Elizabeth Curran (née Haughney), Beechmount Road, Highfield Park, Galway and formerly of Clonbrock, Crettyard, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully in Galway Hospice on Thursday 21st December, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Jim, brothers Martin and Paddy, sisters Ellen and Annie, nephew Michael Hughes and his wife Anne and her niece Bernadette Hughes.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Louise, sons John and Martin, granddaughters Niamh, Aoife, Ellen and Anna, great-grandchildren Marni, James and Alice, son-in-law Kelvin, daughter-in-law Karen, sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy on Tuesday (Jan. 2nd) from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday 3rd January, 2024 in Saint Abban’s Church, Doonane, Crettyard at 12 noon.

Tone Donovan, Slough, London and formerly of Cuddagh, Castletown, Co. Laois, December 15th. 2023. Predeceased by his brothers Jack and Danny, sisters Kathleen and Ann (Nan).

He will be lovingly, remembered by his loving wife Debbie, sons Nicholas, Joseph, Stephen, Dominic and Damien, his daughter Pagan, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, brothers, Tom, Joe, Pat, Larry and Ollie, sisters Phil, Collette, Bridie, Mary and Patricia, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Cremation will take place in Slough Crematorium, England at 1pm on Tuesday, 2nd January 2024.

Lucy Hyland, (nee Davin), Bordwell, Ballacolla, Co. Laois, December 21st. 2023, peacefully at Blackrock Clinic, Dublin surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank, sister Joan and brother Billy. Sadly missed by her adored family, Paul, Mary, David and John, daughters-in-law Elaine and Michelle, son-in-law Paddy Dalton, grandchildren Frank, Patrick, James, Bill, Louise, David and Harry, brother John, sister Mary, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her residence (Eircode R32 EY40) on Tuesday, December 26th, and Wednesday, December 27th, from 4 o’clock pausing for prayers at 7 o’clock both evenings.

Removal on Thursday morning, December 28th, to St. Canice’s Church, Clough (Eircode R32 K003) arriving for Requiem mass at 11. o’clock. Cremation takes place afterwards at Mount Jerome Crematorium Dublin at 3.15 o’clock.
