Mountmellick Macra all set to represent Laois at the national Capers semi final

Mountmellick Macra Capers All Ireland Semi Final

The Mountmellick Macra Capers team are all set to represent Laois in the National Capers semi final in Cavan on Saturday, January 13.

Capers is a 20 minute variety show with a mix of singing, dancing, comedy and historical pieces.

There are 13 teams in the national semi finals with some Cork and Kilkenny teams having already competed to get to the semi finals.

Cavan Macra host six teams on Saturday with three going through to the All Ireland, and Kerry Macra host seven with three also going forward to the All Ireland.

The six successful teams will go forward to the final on February 3, in Ovens in Cork.

Mountmellick had a successful year in 2022 winning the show outright and travelling on the prize winner’s trip to Edinburgh in March 2023.

The variety of acts and participants make for an entertaining show and the cast have been busy rehearsing since October.

Mountmellick’s show is called Therapy Vibes and is produced by AC Reynolds and choreographed by Louise Ahern.

The team who will take to the stage on Saturday is as follows:

Colette Cashin, Aaron Kane, Amy Strong, Andrew Dunne, Aoife Mallon, Aoife Oxley, Alanah Conroy, Nathan Flanagan, Conan Kirwan, Kellie Fox, Jade Feeney, Michéal Kilheeney, Joanne Teehan and Sophie Ahern.
