Teresa Lalor
Clonbar, Clonad, Portlaoise, Laois

Teresa Lalor, peacefully at home. Predeceased by her siblings Mollie, Kathleen, Delia, Eddie, Eileen (Maher) and brother in law John Joe Maher. Sadly missed by her niece Mary, John and Eimear.

Many, many thanks to Caroline, Teresa’s private carer for the last three and a half years, Mary and Imelda from the H.S.E.and all the carers from Comfort Keepers for their care of Teresa at home. Also Evelyn and Joanne P.H.N.s and the palliative care nurses, for their dedication to Teresa.

Reception of remains to St. Fintan’s Church, Raheen, with prayers at 7pm on Thursday, 1st February. Funeral Mass at 12 midday on Friday, burial immediately afterwards in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Raheen.


Liam Dunne
Back Lane, Carlingford, Louth/Portlaoise, Laois/Dublin

The death has occurred of Comdt. Retd. Liam Dunne, Back Lane, Carlingford and formerly Portlaoise and Dublin peacefully at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved wife Cecilia and daughter Una.

Very deeply regretted by his daughter Helen and sons Eoin and Colm. Liam will be sadly missed by his loving daughter, sons, daughters-in-law Una and Jane, son-in-law Larry, grandchildren, David, Ciara , Colm, Aoife, Michael, Joe, Rebecca, Annie, Cecilia, Conor and Cassie, great-grandchildren Ronan, Liam, Neve, Josh, Sloane, Luke, Gabriel and Hugo, sister Marie, sister-in-law Bernadette Noonan, (Seattle), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence (Eircode A91 X303) from 7.00pm Tuesday for neighbours and friends to call. Removal on Thursday morning at 11.00am proceeding on foot via Back Lane and The Square to St. Michael’s Church, Carlingford arriving for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery.


Marta Dyrcz
Riverside, Portarlington, Offaly/Portarlington, Laois

Formerly of Poland. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Tullamore. Sadly missed by her loving husband Pawel and her 2 adoring sons Olaf and Tymon, father, mother, brothers, sisters, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) this Tuesday evening from 7pm until 8pm for anyone wishing to pay their condolences.

Thomas (Tom, Tommy) Donohoe
Portlaoise, Laois/Cabra, Dublin

Donohoe, Thomas (Tom/Tommy) (Late of Portlaoise and formerly of Cabra) – 27th of January, 2024, passed away peacefully in The Residence Nursing Home, Portlaoise, surrounded by his family.

Sadly missed by his cherished children Mark, Eva and Caitríona, his grandchildren, Sinéad, Tomás, Lucas, his daughter and sons-in-law, Charlene, Gareth and Bertrand and his best friend, Vera.

Reposing at Massey Bros Funerals, 88 A, New Cabra Road, Dublin 7 D07 ET92 on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral arriving to the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Cabra on Thursday 10am with cremation afterwards to Glasnevin Crematorium due at 11.30am.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to both the McKeons and the Donohoe families who looked after Tom very well during his illness and also the staff of the Oncology Unit of Tullamore Midlands Regional hospital and The Residence Nursing home Portlaoise.

Heffernan Esther. Buttercup Way, Esker Hills, Portlaoise Jan 28th 2024 Suddenly at home. Beloved wife of Mark and dearly loved mother to Kayleigh and Tianna-Lee. Predeceased by her mother Una and baby Marie and mother in law Ann.

Lovingly missed by her father John-Joe and brothers John-Joe, Glen, Stephen, Eddie and sister Sylvia, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Reposing privately at home. Public reposing will take place in Keegans Funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6.30 pm till 8 pm.

Removal from her residence on Thursday morning to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.


Eamonn Kelly
Ballymacken, Portlaoise, Laois, R32WR0A

Eamonn Kelly, Ballymacken, Portlaoise and late of Bloomfield. January 28th 2024. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband to Eileen.

Loving father to Anne, Martin and Edel. Cherished grandfather to Eamonn Óg, Aoife and Sophie. Deeply regretted by his family, son in law Gavin, daughter in law Niamh. Edel’s partner Stevie, brothers and sisters, Anne, Mary, Bill, John, Joe, Gertie, Pat and Helen, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at his family home at Ballymacken (R32WR0A) on Tuesday afternoon from 2 pm. With rosary at 8 pm.

Removal on Wednesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

St Canice’s Terrace, Borris-in-Ossory, Laois/Bruff, Limerick

Gerry Walsh, St Canice’s Terrace, Borris-in-Ossory, Co. Laois, formerly of Bruff, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. Died 28th January 2024, peacefully at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home Crosspatrick, surrounded by his loving family and in the loving care of nursing staff.

Beloved husband of Margaret (née Dunne), father to Gerard and Bridget. Sadly missed by his wife, son, daughter, grandson Matthew, niece, cousin Andrew, brothers-in-law Tom, Liam and Mick, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Tuesday evening (January 30th) from 6.30p.m. concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Wednesday morning (January 31st) to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath (eircode R32X338), for Requiem Mass at 10 o’clock, followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Margaret Bracken (née Comerford)
Ryevale Lawns, Leixlip, Kildare/Templetuohy, Tipperary

Bracken (née Comerford), Margaret, Ryevale Lawns, Leixlip, Co. Kildare and late of Templetuohy, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, January 26th 2024, peacefully, at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, after a long illness, bravely borne.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Gerry, son David, daughter Kate, sister Bridget (Mulcahy), brother Jerry, brothers-in-law Paddy, Greg and Seamus Bracken, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Oliver Reilly’s Funeral Home, Leinster St., Maynooth (W23 V99E) on Tuesday from 4pm-8pm.

Removal on Wednesday from Margaret’s residence at 10.30am to arrive at The Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, Leixlip for 11am funeral mass, followed by burial in Confey Cemetery. Those who are unable to attend the funeral, please leave a personal message for the family in the condolences section below.

David Duncan
“Redlough” Rathevan, Portlaoise, Laois

David Duncan untimely passing occurred on 21th January 2024. David was dearly loved son to Tony and Ann. Cherished brother to Gary and Mark and Jacqui and Uncle to Melody and Dylan.

Sadly missed by his loving family. Sisters in law Tracey & Bryana, his future brother in law Seamus, his many good friends, especially Katrin and extended family.

Reposing at Keegans funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6.30 pm till 8 pm. Funeral prayers will be recited at 7.30pm. Removal on Wednesday to arrive at Newlands Crematorium for 2.30pm, where a celebration of his life will take place.
