There was huge drama as Scoil Mhuire Fatima Timahoe and Rath National School clashed in Round 1 of the LaoisToday Schools Quiz Cast.
Ruairi Bowe, Daisy Ramsbottom and Lucy Scully were on duty for Timahoe while Michael Behan, Aoife Murphy and Michael Nolan competed for Rath.
There was serious drama in this one as a mistake on our end meant that Timahoe were incorrectly awarded the win in the first recording of the contest.
But like Laois when Mick Turley kicked the point that never was against Carlow, Timahoe graciously offered Rath a replay.
In the end, it came down to who could remember the 16 teams who competed in the 2023 Laois senior football championship the best.
Timahoe did advance at the second time of asking but Rath are still alive and will be a tough battle for anyone in the Qualifier section.
Timahoe now go through to Round 2 where one more win will book their place in our Grand Final in the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Friday, March 1.
