Houses and a filling station potentially on the way to Durrow as land worth €341,000 sold

The January meeting of Laois County Council saw the sale of eleven Council sites across the county, delivered under Section 183 of the Local Government Act 2001.

This list included five sites in the Durrow area – one at Swan Road and four in the townland of Course – for a total return of €341,000.

The most substantial sale was that of 0.518 hectares of land at Swan Road, Durrow.

The land has been purchased by Oliver Stanley Motors Ltd, Cork Road, Durrow, for €181,000.

Emmet Wall and Amber Bailey, Granstown, Ballacolla have purchased 0.366 acres in the townland of Course, Durrow for €40,000.

Joanne Troy, Ballynalacken, via Attanagh purchased 0.377 acres in the townland of Course, Durrow for €40,000.

Brian and Susan Garvey of Silverhill Lower, Ballymore Eustace, Naas, Co Kildare  paid €40,000 for 0.375 acres of land in the townland of Course, Durrow.

And finally, 0.364 acres in the townland of Course, Durrow was sold for €40,000 to Jason and Emma Dollard, Feltham Hall, Blackbog Road, Co Carlow.

LaoisToday understands that houses are to be built on the four sites in Course, while a shop, possibly to include a filling station, has been mooted for the site on Swan Road.
