Isaac George Dobson. The Rock of Dunamaise. Portlaoise February 4th 2024. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. In the care of the tender staff of Portlaoise Regional hospital. Beloved husband of Jean , and devoted father to Jonathan and Suzanne.

Cherished grandfather to Millie, Hayley, Christian and William. Sincerely missed by his son in law Philip and daughter in law Mary. His brother Robert. Sisters in law, brothers in law. Nephews, nieces. Relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral home Portlaoise on Tuesday evening (Feb 6th) from 5.30 pm till 7 pm. Removal also on Tuesday evening to arrive at The Holy Trinity Church, Dunamaise for 7.30. On Wednesday (Feb 7th) funeral service will take place at 3 pm followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) Parkinson
Woodbrook, Mountrath, Laois

Patrick (Paddy) Parkinson Snr., Woodbrook, Mountrath, Co. Laois, died peacefully on Monday 5th February 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Lily.

Sadly missed by his children, John, Angela, Lucia, Patrick, Monica, Christine and Oliver, sons-in-law Paul and Cathal, daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Brenda, Jacinta, Jennifer, Jean, Ciara, Kieran, Deirdre, Laura, Alison, Olivia, Peter, Seán, Elizabeth and Darren, great grandchild Lily, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Tuesday evening (February 6th) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock.

Removal on Wednesday morning (February 7th) to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath (eircode R32X338), for Requiem Mass at 10. 0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Eleanor Marjorie Sarah (Sally) Gibbs (née Dobbs)
Bellmount, Cullohill, Laois

Passed peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny.

Beloved wife of the late David and much loved mother of Lucinda, William and Alexander. Sadly missed by her children, son in law and daughters in law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other family and many friends in Ireland and overseas.

Esther (Essie) Lanham (née Conroy)
Upper Sconce, Mountrath, Laois

Esther (Essie) Lanham, (née Conroy), Upper Sconce, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died 4th February 2024, peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by her loving family, in her 99th year.

Predeceased by her husband Gus, deeply regretted by her sorrowing daughter Sheila, sons George, Stephen and Gus. Sadly missed by her family, adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home in Upper Sconce (eircode E32Y9W3) on Monday evening (February 5th) from 4pm, concluding with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Tuesday morning (February 6th) to St. Fintan’s Church Ballyfin (eircode R32TD61), for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Ballyfin.

Essie’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on www.ballyfinparish.ie. Family time on Tuesday morning, please.

Apartment No. 5 College Ave, Mountmellick, Laois/Castletroy, Limerick

Formerly of Castle Troy Halting Site.

Died peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, surrounded by her loving family.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband John, her two daughters, five sons, grand children, three sisters and one brother, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends. Funeral arrangements later.

Stephen O’Sullivan St Brigids Place Portlaoise. February 3rd 2024. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband to Sheila and dearly loved father to Stephen, Margaret, James, Richard, Aidan and Denis. Father in law to Josephine, Paul, Margaret, Caroline, and Kellie.

Brother to Jimmy, Noel, Tom, Anthony and Therese. Predeceased by his parents James and Annie. brothers, Johnny, Michael, Billy, and sisters Mary, Delores, Margaret and Anne.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home Portlaoise on Sunday evening from 6.30 pm till 8 pm with rosary at 7.30.

Removal on Monday from his residence to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 2 pm mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery. Family flowers only. House private.


Katie Graham
Ballinagall, Ballickmoyler, Carlow/Laois

Predeceased by her brother Noel Jnr. and her grandparents Síle and Noel. Deeply regretted by her loving parents Damien and Breda, sister Laura, grandparents Andy and Mary (Hosey), aunts , uncles, cousins, relatives and many, many friends.

Reposing at her residence (R93 Y7YO) on Sunday afternoon (February 4th) from 3pm until 8pm with Rosary at 7pm.

Removal on Monday morning to arrive at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Arles for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.


Elizabeth Simpson (née Houlihan)
Borris Road and formerly of St Johns Square, Portlaoise, Laois

Predeceased by her son Wayne. Beloved partner of John and much loved mother of Lisa and Leigh. Deeply regretted by her loving family, grandchild Melissa, brother Con, sisters Anne, Catherine and Tina, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Requiem Mass to take place on Monday, 5th February, at 12 noon in St Peter and Paul’s parish church, Portlaoise. Thereafter to Newlands Cross Crematorium for service at 2.30pm.

The family requests people please wear colourful or bright clothing. All are welcome at the crematorium.


Dolores Wogan
Mill Court, Greenmill Lane, Portlaoise, Laois/Durrow, Offaly/Templemore, Tipperary

Dolores passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St. James Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by her parents P.J & Mary Wogan, and her partner Eamon Bailey.

Dolores will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Siobhán, Áine and Róisín, siblings Martina (UK), Irene (Kerry), Gerry (Durrow, Co. Offaly) and Maurice (New Zealand), the Bailey Family (Ballybrittas) nieces & nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home, Portlaoise (R32 W10E) on Sunday the 4th of February from 2pm to 5:30pm. Recital of the Rosary at 5pm.

Removal by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Monday morning at 11am, to arrive at St. John’s Church, Killenard (R32 VW77) for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment to follow in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations if desired to the Donal Hollywood Ward, St. James Hospital. Donation box will be in funeral home and the church.
