In Pictures: History made as The Heath hosts first ever St Patrick’s Day Parade

History was made in The Heath this morning as they hosted their first ever St Patrick’s Day Parade.

In lovely sunshine, the community came together and there really was a massive turnout.

The RTE TV cameras were there as the parade got underway at 8.45am.

The parade was established as part of the work being done by a newly-formed Health and Well Being committee that has been very active in recent weeks.

The group have already ran a very successful Ireland Lights Up project where over 140 people registered and walked the new track at The Heath GAA grounds.

They also have set up an Active Retirement group that organises pilates, a weekly card night and have plans for a music session.

Courses and weekend trips are also on the horizon but for now – they are revelling in the memory of a brilliant St Patrick’s Day.

Everyone headed to mass afterwards with refreshments served in the church hall.

Photographer Ross Molloy was present early this morning at the parade.
