O’Mahony Safety Solutions LTD is a Health and Safety consultancy and training company, committed to helping businesses across Ireland achieve the highest standards of safety through expert services and innovative training.
What inspired you to start this business?
After 15 years of experience in emergency services and health and safety, I realized that there was a growing need for more accessible, high-quality safety consultancy and training services for companies, especially in the Midlands, where I could bring my expertise to help businesses protect both their people and operations.
What’s the story behind your business name?
The name “O’Mahony Safety Solutions” represents both my family heritage and my commitment to delivering effective and personalised solutions.
I wanted to build a trusted, approachable company that brings reliability and a personal touch to health and safety consulting.

In response to the increasing concern over substance misuse in the workplace, O’Mahony Safety Solutions launched Workplace Drug & Alcohol Testing Services. This initiative meets a vital need across various industries in Ireland.

What is different and compelling about what you offer?
We don’t just offer generic training or consultancy; we provide a fully personalised service.

This year, we are expanding our service offerings to meet the changing needs of workplaces. In response to the increasing concern over substance misuse and its impact on safety, productivity, and compliance, we are proud to introduce our Workplace Drug & Alcohol Testing Services.

In response to the increasing demand for flexible learning options, the company launched an online training platform. This initiative allows clients to complete health and safety courses at their convenience, broadening their reach and accessibility.

Laois is strategically located, with easy access to Dublin, Cork, and Galway. The community is incredibly supportive, and there’s a great balance of business and rural living that makes it a fantastic place to run a business.
There’s also a growing interest in health and safety awareness in the region, which is perfect for us.
What’s your favorite part of being a business owner in Laois?
The local community is incredibly welcoming and supportive. I love that I can connect with other businesses and people in the area, share insights, and work together to build a safer, more productive environment.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Outside of work, I’m a fan of hiking. It’s a great way for me to clear my mind and recharge. I find that nature helps me think through business challenges in a fresh way!
What’s your favorite local spot or hidden gem in Laois?
The Slieve Bloom Mountains! It’s a beautiful area for hiking and taking in the scenery. It’s also quiet and peaceful, which makes it a perfect escape when I need to unwind.
