Paddy Lowry, Kiln Lane, Mountrath, Co. Laois, a former employee of Bord Na Mona, died peacefully on 2nd May 2025 at Beaumont Hospital Dublin, surrounded by his loving family after an illness bravely borne.
Predeceased by son Jason (died in infancy)
Dear son of Tim and Mary, beloved husband of Anne, adored father of Patrick, David, Nicola, Darren, Annette and Craig. Cherished grandad of Aaron, Jack and Eoin.
Cherished brother of Mary, Kathleen, Breda, Sean, Margaret, Anna, Angela, Nuala, Martin, Tim, Brendan and Andrew. Sadly, missed by daughters in law Veronica, Cora, Mag and Linda. Sadly, missed by Uncle Jack Lowry, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and wide circle of family and friends.
Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Sunday evening (May 4th) from 4.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock, Removal on Monday morning (May 5th) from his home, to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath, for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St, Fergal’s Cemetery Camross.

Sydney Harvey
Derrycarrow, Camross, Laois
Sydney passed away peacefully on the 1st May 2025, surrounded by his loving family, and in the loving care of nurses and staff of St. Vincent’s Nursing Unit Mountmellick. Predeceased by his wife Valerie, parents Richard and Emily. Sadly, missed by his loving family son Richard, daughters Vicky and Charlene, grandchildren Shane, Cian, Darragh, Emily, Tilly, Ava and Poppy, brother John, daughter-in-law Aisling, sons-in-law Anthony (Coffey) and Simon (Bailey), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath this Saturday evening (May 3rd) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Prayers at 8.0’clock. Removal from his home (Derrycarrow) on Sunday afternoon (May 4th) to arrive in St. Jude’s Church Annatrim (eircode R32Y060), for Funeral Service at 2.0’clock, followed by Burial in the adjoining Churchyard.
Julia Bergin (née Delahunty)
Leinster House Main Street, Abbeyleix, Laois
Formally of Cullahill Durrow. Peacefully in the company of her loving family at her daughter’s residence Rathdowney. Dearly beloved wife of the late Billy and mother of Elizabeth,Kathleen and Angela, sons in law, her adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.Remembering also the deceased members of the Delahunty and Bergin families and her son in law John Burke.
Resting at the Chapel of Repose adjoining the Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix, on Saturday from 6pm to 8pm. Prayers on arrival at 6pm. Requiem mass will be celebrated on Sunday at 11am. in The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix. Interment afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Ballyroan Rd., Abbeyleix. House private on Sunday morning.
Marie Murphy (née Delaney)

Marie Murphy (nee Delaney). Clonadacasey, Mountrath, Portlaoise, Co.Laois. Died May 1st 2025. Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Ned and son Brian. Deeply regretted by her loving children Olive, Eamonn, Marie and Paul, brothers Brian, Ray and Noel, daughters-in-law Caroline and Norita, Marie’s partner Damien, her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her residence (R32 PT99) on Saturday May 3rd from 4pm till 8pm and Sunday from 3pm till 8pm with rosary at 7pm on both evenings. Funeral arriving on Monday to SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 12 noon requiem mass followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Formerly with An Foras Talúntais. Peacefully in is 100th year with family at his side in the wonderful care of the staff in the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore. Beloved husband of Bridget (Bridie) and loving father to Mary and Siobhán. He will be very sadly missed by his sons in law Cormac Guinan and Daniel Free, his grandchildren Katie, Laura, Sarah, Matthew, Rachel and Jiani, his brothers Joe and Walter, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at O’Reilly’s Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore (R35 FC84), on Friday from 4pm until Removal at 6.30pm to the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 2pm followed by Burial after Mass in Clonminch Cemetery, Tullamore.

Nancy Conroy (née Hughes)
Ardeevin, Mullingar, Westmeath/Portlaoise, Laois
The death has occurred of Nancy Conroy (née Hughes) – Ardeevin, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly of Main Street, Portlaoise, Co Laois – April 30, 2025 (peacefully) in the company of her loving family and in the tender care of the staff at the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar.
Dearly loved wife of the late Denis and mother of Patricia, Ann, Susan and Denis; Nancy will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, sons-in-law Ian, Cormac and Daragh, daughter-in-law Michelle, her adored grandchildren Mary, Sinead, Shona, Leanne, Daragh and Ava; her cherished great-grandchildren Tamzin, Lily, Jack and Ava, brothers-in-law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Remembering also the deceased members of the Conroy and Hughes families.
