The Laois U-20 hurlers will have home advantage for their Leinster championship semi final next week.
Leinster GAA have confirmed that Laois will host Kilkenny on Wednesday, May 14, in O’Moore Park at 7.30pm.
After Laois’s brilliant win over Wexford yesterday, confusion reigned over who Laois would play next.
On the Leinster GAA website, it had Laois down to face Galway away in the semi final.
However, when Dublin surprisingly turned over Leinster champions Offaly in the other quarter final, the original fixtures presented a repeat of the group stage games.
Leinster GAA confirmed that repeat pairings were to be avoided where possible so Laois will play Kilkenny and Dublin will take on Galway.
Laois were in Tier 1 of the competition at the start where they lost to Galway and Offaly.
After finishing bottom of the group, Laois had to play a preliminary quarter final against Kildare which they won 1-29 to 2-16.
A brilliant performance against Wexford yesterday saw them claim a 1-24 to 1-18 win away.
Kilkenny have reached this stage after Tier 1 wins over both Dublin and Wexford.
When these sides were minor in 2022, Laois defeated Kilkenny in the semi final and will be hoping to repeat the feat.
