Helen Melia (née Maher)
Treascon, Portarlington, Offaly/Portlaoise, Laois

Formerly of Summerhill, Portlaoise, County Laois. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her infant son Kevin, parents Tom and Julia, brother Paddy, sisters Judy and Ann.

Deeply regretted by her loving sons Derek and Alan and their father Louie, adoring grandchildren Rebecca, Karen, Caolan and Cara, daughters-in-law Kimberly and Abby, brothers Tom and Jim, sisters Winnie and Jean, her holiday buddy Rosie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many close friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Thursday evening from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am.

Funeral afterwards to The Garden Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium for Committal Service at 1:30pm.

Martin Loughman
Cleaghmore, Ballinasloe, Galway/Laois

Formerly of Levalley, Galmoy. Martin passed away peacefully at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, on the 14th of May, 2025, in his 101st year. Predeceased by his wife Bridie, parents Margaret and John and his nine siblings. Much loved father of Annette, John, Marty and Sinéad and cherished grandad of David, Séan, Clare and Eva Mai. Deeply regretted by his son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Alison, sisters-in-law Margaret (Kilrush) and Mary (Dublin), nieces, nephews, extended family, wonderful friends & neighbours and former colleagues & students of “The Tech”, Ballinasloe.

Martin will repose at his home in Cleaghmore (H53 HT25), on Thursday, the 15th of May, from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Friday morning to St. Michael’s Church, Ballinasloe, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Eucharia Meskill (née Kingston)
Agoura House, Kileen, Stradbally, Laois/Athy, Kildare

The death has occurred of Eucharia Meskill (née Kingston), Agoura House, Kileen, Stradbally, Co. Laois and formerly California, USA and Rosetown, Athy, Co. Kildare, passed away peacefully in St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin on 13th May 2025.

Predeceased by her late husband Noel and sister Elizabeth. Sadly missed by her much loved son Brian, sisters Mary and Ursula, brothers Joe, John, David, Edward and Richard, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, her very dear friend Vanessa and her husband Tom.

Eucharia will repose at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday 15th May, with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Friday 16th May at 11am in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally. Interment to follow in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin

John Wall
Portlaoise, Laois/Coolock, Dublin

Wall (formerly of Dr. Murphy Place, Portlaoise and Coolock, Dublin 17) May 13th., 2025 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Silvergrove Nursing Home, Clonee, John, dear father of Gordon, Marie and Eamonn.

Predeceased by his daughter Isabell, mother Annie, sisters Kathleen and Sally and brother Thomas; sadly missed by his loving family, grandchildren David and Sean, daughter-in-law Lisa, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Clonsilla on Sunday evening (May 18th) between 4pm and 6pm. Removal on Monday morning (May 19th) to St. Ciaran’s Church, Hartstown arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery.

Annastasia Campion (née Gleeson)
Lisduff, Errill, Laois/Roscrea, Tipperary

Annastasia Campion (née Gleeson) , Lisduff, Errill Co. Laois and formerly Newgrove House, Rathnavogue, Dunkerrin, Co. Tipperary, May 12th, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Charlie, sisters Cissy and Mary and brother Jack.

Sadly missed and remembered with love her family Eamonn, Thomas, Margaret and Hanora, daughters-in-law Helen and Nairi, son-in-law Gavin, grandchildren Glen, Katie, Emma, Anna,Charlie, Carla and Ross, sister Josie, sister-in-law Frances, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her residence Lisduff, Errill (Eircode R32 WD89) on Wednesday May 14th. from 4 o’clock pausing for Prayers at 8 o’clock. Removal on Thursday morning May 15th to Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church, Errill arriving for Requiem Mass at 11.30. Interment afterwards in The Local Cemetery, Rathdowney.

Anne Mc Auliffe (née Rogers)
Newpark, Portlaoise, Laois/Abbeyleix, Laois

Formerly Churchview, New Row, Abbeyleix, Laois. Peacefully at the Residence Nursing Home Portlaoise, surrounded by her devoted and loving family, and the wonderful caring staff of the Residence Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents, Billy and Annie Rogers, Abbeyleix. Anne will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, sister Lila (Burns, USA), loving husband and best friend John, daughter Mary and son Patrick, adored grandchildren Áine and Sadhbh, daughter in law Isobel, son in law Garret, brother in law Jimmy, relatives, great neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at the Chapel of Rest adjoining the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix on Tuesday May 13th from 6pm. to 8pm. with prayers at 7pm. Funeral arriving to St.Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 11am Requiem Mass on Wednesday 14th. Burial afterwards in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Stradbally Rd., Portlaoise. House Private. Robert (Bobby) Hovenden
The Swan Road, Durrow, Laois, R32 K7N1/Kilkenny

Robert (Bobby), 98 years of age, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family while under the care of the staff of Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and his sisters Janet and Edith. Robert (Bobby) will be be deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children Ann, Robert, June, Leslie, Ken and Don, his brothers Arthur and Harry, sons-in-law Roy and Roger, daughters-in-law Valerie, Dor, Emma and Janine, his 11 adoring and cherished grandchildren, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Robert will repose at his residence, The Swan Road, Durrow R32 K7N1 on Tuesday 13th May 2025 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral Service on Wednesday 14th May 2025 in St Fintan’s Church, Durrow, Co. Laois R32 X674 at 2pm with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
