A Laois band are set to perform at a music festival and have their single professionally recorded after winning a song contest.
‘Alright Then’ have been announced as the Night and Day winners of their annual song contest.
The festival, hosted at Boyle in Roscommon, is set to take place between June 27 and 29.
Alright Then is comprised of Conor McLoughlin, Colm Geraghty and Cillian Deegan who are from Portarlington.
The band navigates the uncertainties of being twenty-something alongside a fear that can be stunning.
Their sound has a folk core, often engaging with moments of rock, indie and surf.
By learning lessons from the likes of Kevin Morby, Big Thief and Courtney Barnett, they produce a warm sound.
Lyrically, Alright Then dwell on the moments in time where they have not been so present.
The conversations where things weren’t said, and moments when actions should have been different, Conor writes to accept points of life where typically he would ruminate negatively.
Alright Then can now choose to record their winning song ‘If You Are To Lose’ at either Night and Day’s sponsoring studios; Soundcaster Studios and Paddy Jordan Recording.
