Another busy week of Laois GAA fixtures, with the biggest game being undoubtedly the clash of Laois and Carlow in Dr Cullen Park on Saturday afternoon in the final round of group games in the Joe McDonagh Cup.
After breezing through their first three games, Laois were stunned by Kildare in O’Moore Park on Sunday.
With Kildare also beating Carlow, it means that the Lilywhites are almost guaranteed a final place and the Laois v Carlow game on Saturday is essentially a semi-final. A draw will do Laois but the winner will be through to the final in Croke Park on June 8.
Elsewhere this week, the Laois camogie team begin their All Ireland series in O’Moore Park against Wicklow, also on Saturday afternoon.
At club level, there is a full round of ACHL Division 1 games on Sunday, while this evening is a big round in ACFL Division 3 and 4.
Also on this evening are the U-15 football league finals – with recently-crowned Feile champions Mountmellick Parish Gaels playing Portarlington in the top-grade Division 1A final while Stradbally Parish Gaels and O’Dempsey’s do battle in the Division 1B final.
