Clonaslee College celebrated the graduation of their sixth-year students recently with a heartwarming and memorable evening.
The night was a perfect blend of celebration, reflection, and fond farewells.
The ceremony opened with a poignant tea light ritual, where each flickering flame symbolised the light, spirit, and contribution each student brought to our school community.
It was a beautiful reminder of the individuality and impact of every graduate.
Head Boy and Head Girl, Sean O’Shea and Cara Donogher, delivered moving speeches, reflecting on their time at Clonaslee College.
They spoke warmly about the friendships formed, the personal growth achieved, and the many shared memories that have shaped their journey.
Ms McMahon addressed the students with a powerful message, encouraging them to follow their dreams relentlessly and to carry with them the lessons learned during their years at Clonaslee.
Chairperson of the Board of Management, Ms Molly Buckley, also addressed the students, offering her heartfelt congratulations. She said that their hard work, perseverance, and dedication had brought them to this proud moment.
She acknowledged the crucial support they had received throughout their time at Clonaslee College—from dedicated teachers and staff to their parents and families—who had all helped to instil in them a lifelong love of learning.
On behalf of the wider school community, Fr O’Reilly represented the Board of Management, Nicola Dunne spoke on behalf of the school staff, Charlie Conroy represented our first-year students, and Marian Flanagan shared a message on behalf of parents and guardians.
Together, they participated in a candle-lighting ceremony to symbolise the light that has guided our students thus far, and that which will continue to illuminate their paths forward.
The evening also featured the announcement of our senior awards, celebrating the talents and achievements of the students.
