Mixed, social and designed for fun – Portlaoise RFC set to host tag rugby this summer

Tag rugby is set to return to Portlaoise RFC grounds in Togher from Thursday evening, June 5, weekly from 8-9pm.

You can join as an individual and play just for craic, getting outdoors and meeting people while enjoying some exercise.

Tag rugby is social sport at its finest. It’s an easy game to pick up, so no experience is required.

They will help you understand the basics, and provide a fun, casual weekly game.

The fun doesn’t necessarily have to stop on the pitch either. Togher Touch Rugby is open to all from U-14 upwards and welcomes boys and girls to senior men and women.

A spokesperson for Portlaoise RFC said: “No previous experience needed and all experience welcome.

“Come along for a fast paced fun game, no hard contact, load of fun and meet new people.

“For further info or any queries, please contact Franky on 085 1085824 or Lynn on 086 7980744.

“Tag Rugby provides many benefits to players. You can meet new friends, get fit, play a fun form of rugby with no contact, join a club, become part of a community, and explore pathways to other forms of the game.”
