After a two week break, the Laois Ladies return to action this afternoon as they face Roscommon.
This is Round 1 of the All-Ireland Intermediate championship and Laois will have their final group game away to Fermanagh next week.
It has been an up and down type of year for Laois so far so they will be looking to make a positive start here.
Laois were in Division 3 of the National League and were tipped to make the final but lost out.
Defeat to Louth in Round 1 plus a draw against Limerick meant they had to win their final game against Wexford.
But that proved a task too far as Wexford defeated them and left Laois in that Division for another year.
Laois easily accounted for Wicklow in the Leinster Intermediate semi final and played Westmeath in the final two weeks ago.
But Sarah Dillon scored 1-4 as Laois could not recover from a slow start and went down.
Roscommon were in Division 2 and finished second from bottom but managed to stay up.
They haven’t played since though as no other Connacht side were intermediate this year.
