We are four days away from the Joe McDonagh Cup final and excitement is building across Laois.

Below, we have tried to answer some of the questions that Laois GAA fans are likely to have before the game:

When and where is the game?

The Joe McDonagh Cup final takes place in Croke Park on Sunday with throw in at 1.45pm.

It is part of a double header with the Leinster final between Galway and Kilkenny following on afterwards at 4pm.

What is the story with tickets?

Tickets are available to buy via Ticketmaster and one ticket covers you for both games.

The cheapest ticket currently available is for Hill 16 which is priced at €30.

While tickets in the lower part of the Cusack and Hogan stands are available for €40.

The option to purchase a seat in the upper tier is not available at present while there is also no choice for anywhere in the Canal End.

Leinster GAA offered 20,000 free tickets to children under the age of 14 and it is believed this initiative was well received – so there should be a healthy crowd in attendance.

How can I get there?

Train, bus or car are your best bet – we don’t have an airport in Laois just yet.

As regards the trains, the 9.46am train from Portlaoise is completely sold out while only first class tickets remain for the 10.13am to Heuston.

There are trains available at 10.30am and 11.25am which will get you to Dublin in plenty of time for the game.

For those who decide to drive, there are plenty of places to park nearby the stadium.

A full range of these can be found here and prices range around €10.

Is the game on TV?

If you can’t make it up to Croke Park, the game is also being shown live on TV.

RTE 2 have live coverage starting from 1.30pm and will bring you every puck of the action.

If you are unable to watch it that way, we will have our Live Blog in operation as always.

What’s the story afterwards?

While nothing has been confirmed, we believe that some sort of a homecoming event will be held afterwards.

Details of this are set to be revealed after the game has concluded and we will publish them as soon as we have them.

What happens to Laois after this game?

Win or lose, Laois’s season will continue for another week at least after this game.

If Laois win, they will face Dublin in an All-Ireland Preliminary quarter final while if they lose, they will face Tipperary.

Those games are scheduled for June 14/15 and details will be confirmed early next week.
