Cosy Choir dazzles with magical sold out community concert to celebrate ten years

On Friday evening last, the Cosy Choir delivered an a performance to celebrate their ten year anniversary in front of a sold out audience.

Held on June 20 in Bloom HQ in Mountrath, the event was hailed as a success, bringing together community, music, and meaning in perfect harmony.

The evening began with a warm welcome and words of gratitude from Sinead Cooper, who acknowledged the many hands that made the night possible.

Bernie Coss then took to the stage as MC, expertly guiding the audience through the evening’s rich musical journey.

The Cosy Choir filled the hall with breathtaking renditions of beloved songs, each performance more powerful than the last.

A standout moment came when the choir’s president, Mattie Farrell, delivered a heartfelt solo of Lovely Laois, supported by the full choir.

It was a deeply touching highlight that resonated with all in attendance.

With a sellout crowd, the evening also served a greater purpose, raising funds in support of the Laois Hospice and the Irish Guide Dogs – causes close to the choir’s heart.

The second half of the concert lifted the energy even higher, with the Cosy Choir leaving the audience absolutely enthralled.

Guests described the event as “so special” and “purely magical.” Choir members themselves were visibly moved, sharing smiles and embraces as they walked through the crowds post-performance, soaking in the love and support.

It was more than a concert—it was a celebration of community, a triumph of talent, and a night that will long be remembered.

The group’s next performance will be at the Laois homecoming event in September.
