Cosy Choir’s ten-year celebration concert raises €2,500 for Laois Hospice and Irish Guide Dogs

A Laois musical ensemble has presented cheques to two wonderful charities having raised €2,500 from a recent concert.

The Cosy Choir, based in Mountrath, held the concert Bloom HQ in June to commemorate their ten-year anniversary

The proceeds of the concert had already been earmarked for Laois Hospice and Irish Guide Dogs, with the charities presented with their share of the €2,500.

The choir is comprised of several members who have spent the last decade coming together to sing, entertain, and most of all have fun.

Laois Hospice provides a palliative care service for patients whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment and provides support for the families of patients.

This involves doctors, nurses, a team of specialists and the clergy, who are all concerned with quality of life.

Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is Ireland’s national charity dedicated to enabling people who are vision impaired ad well as families of children with autism to achieve improved mobility and independence.

“A month ago, our community came together in song, spirit, and generosity for a special concert in support of two remarkable causes,” a representative of the Cosy Choir said.

“The Cosy Choir presented cheques to the two charities for the €2,500 raised — a night made possible by the attendees and the unwavering support of our amazing sponsors. Without them, none of this would have been possible.

“The night was celebrated with Sean, his guide dog Elf, and a representative from the Irish Guide Dogs, alongside Mary and Irene from Laois Hospice.

“As the evening drew to a close, a touching video tribute captured the spirit of the concert and celebrated the lives touched by both charities.

“The sense of community in the room was unmistakable — a shared belief in supporting those who need it most.”
