A Laois Ladies football club is set to celebrate 30 years of existence with an exhibition evening on Friday.
Sarsfields were formed in 1995 and have gone on to have unprecedented success.
Based in Mountmellick, the club draws in players from there, The Rock, Kilcavan and Rosenallis primarily.
Since being formed, Sarsfields have reached 132 finals from U-12 to adult level – winning 82 of those.
The club have won five Laois junior championships and also collected a Leinster title at that grade.
They won two Laois intermediate championships and one Leinter title.
Sarsfields’ first Laois senior title was won in 2008 and they have added eight more to that tally since.
They have also claimed the Leinster senior title on three occasions.
Friday’s exhibition is scheduled for Mountmellick’s GAA grounds in Acragar from 7.30pm.
Laois Ladies chairman Martina Mulhall will officially open the exhibition on the night.
The exhibition is to include memorabilia from the last 30 years including banners, flags, team and match photos.
A club Roll of Honour will also be unveiled as well as awards for Allstar, Laois LGFA Player of the year and Player of the matches.
Cups and a selection of jersey designs used by the club since 1995 will also be there.
All our welcome to attend.
