Delaney (née Kavanagh) Philomena (Phil) , 8 Brookfield, Ballyragget , Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Carrigan Street, Durrow, Co. Laois. Phil passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at The Sacred Heart Nursing Home Crosspatrick.

Predeceased by her parents Annie and John, sister Grett and brother John, deeply regretted by her loving and devoted husband Andrew, adored children Sinead and Trevor, cherished grandchildren Fergal and Laura, daughter-in-law Dearbhla, son-in-law Derry, sisters Kathleen, Mary and Sheila, brother Martin, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Phil will repose in Holy Trinity Church Durrow(R32CK11), on Sunday 3rd of August, from 5pm concluding with rosary at 8pm. Phil’s funeral cortège will arrive at Holy Trinity Church Durrow, on Monday 4th of August, for requiem mass at 3pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Geraldine Dempsey (née Holohan)
Brooklodge, Cloncassion, Clonbullogue, Offaly/Rathangan, Kildare/Portarlington, Laois

Geraldine passed away bravely at Beaumont Hospital after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She will be deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family: husband Mark, daughter Jane, son Harry and his partner Hannah, parents Alice and Fintan, brothers Simon, James and John, sister Fiona, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Geraldine’s Funeral Mass will take place on Monday (4th August) at 11:00am in The Church of the Assumption and St. Patrick, Rathangan followed by burial in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Rathangan.

William (Bill) Lynch
New Ireland Road, Rialto, Dublin/Mountmellick, Laois

In Loving Memory of William (Bill) Lynch.

Originally from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, pre-deceased by his father William (Mountmellick) and mother Mary (Carrickmacross), Bill made his home in Rialto, Dublin along with his pre-deceased wife Mary (neé Drumm), who passed in 2003.

Bill dedicated his life to education, having spent time both in Ireland and in Kenya with the Patrician Brothers teaching, before moving into educational curriculum development and in later years lecturing, having recently been awarded his Doctorate in Education.

Bill had a brief battle with cancer and peacefully succumbed to his illness, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday 30th July 2025 aged 73 years.

He is survived by his son Will, daughter Joanna, daughter-in-law Cíara, brothers Brendan (Mary) and Tony (Miriam), sister Marianne (Pat), mother-in-law Johanna, aunt Claire (Portlaoise), sisters-in-law Anne, Bernie and Imelda, brothers-in-law Paul, Seamus, Sean and Vincent, extended family – cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many beloved close friends and colleagues.

Reposing in his home in Rialto, Dublin on Friday 1st August from 5pm. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Funeral arriving to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Fatima, Rialto on Saturday 2nd August for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Mountmellick, Co. Laois (approx 2pm),
