Benny Phelan

Phelan (Mount Pleasant, Bandon and late of Abbeyleix, Co. Laois) on August 3rd 2025, peacefully in the presence of his loving family in the tender care of the Staff at Marymount Hospice. Benny.
Sadly missed by his loving wife Paula (Brennan), children Mark, Adrian, Enda and Kieran, grandchild Ollie, and also Kerrie and Robin, Adrian’s partner Laura (Fehilly), Enda’s partner Emma (Thompson) and Kieran’s partner Niamh (Bradley O’Connor), brothers Martin, Jim, Tom and John, sister Mary, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Benny will be lying in repose at his home (eircode P72AK49) on Wednesday from 5pm followed by prayers at 7pm.
Requiem Mass on Thursday at 1pm in St. Martin’s Church, Farnivane, funeral afterwards to The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy.
Marie Kelly
Bonnettstown, Kilkenny/Mountmellick, Laois
Marie Kelly (Bonnettstown, Co. Kilkenny and Thompson House, Mountmellick, Co. Laois) 3rd of August 2025 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff of the Muiríosa Foundation. Much loved housemate of Monica and John. Beloved sister of Ann (Greany). Marie will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law Bob, nephew Peter, niece Cara, grandnephew Hugh, grandniece Ali, niece-in-law Maeve, cousins, carers, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Thompson House, Mountmellick (R32 YT91) on Monday (4th Aug.) from 4p.m. to 8p.m. with Rosary at 7p.m. Reposing at her sister’s home Cuilin, Bonnettstown (R95 X5N6) on Tuesday from 4p.m. to 9p.m. with Prayers at 7p.m. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11a.m. in St. Canice’s Church (R95 V440) followed by interment in Cuffesgrange Cemetery (R95 ED61). Joseph (Joe) Luttrell
Fisherstown, Ballybrittas, Laois
Joe passed away in the company of his loving family in The Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Joan, his daughter Alison, his son Danny, son in law Riki and Danny’s girlfriend Jennifer, cherished grand daughter Saoirse, his siblings Dan, Johnny, Jude, Betty, Garry, Mary, Simon Noel, sisters in law Dorothy, Julie, Oonagh, Sophie, Patricia, Carmel and Elizabeth, brothers in law Leo, Mick and Bill, his uncle Joe and aunt Mary, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Predeceased by his father Simon, his brother Garrett and recently his mother Anna.
Reposing on Tuesday in Our Lady’s Chapel of Rest Monasterevin (W34 N599) from 4pm to 8pm with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm.
Joe will be arriving on Wednesday to the Sacred Heart Church Rath (R32 FN44) for 12 noon Requiem mass. Interment to follow in Saint Johns cemetery, Killenard (R32 VW77).

Philomena (Phil) Leahy (née Fitzpatrick)
Cardtown, Camross, Laois
Phil passed away peacefully on the 2nd August 2025, surrounded by her loving family and in her 99th year.
Predeceased by her husband Ger, son-in-law Noel and grandson Alan.
Beloved mother of Breda, Anthony, Carmel and Ger, sadly missed by her loving family, grandchildren Garry, Barry, Karen, Aimee, Chloe, P.J., Gearoid, and Ciara, great-grandchildren, son-in-law Tommy, daughters-in-law Mary and Omra, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath this Monday evening August 4th from 4.0’clock, with Funeral Prayers at 7.0’clock, followed by Removal at 7.30 p.m. to St. Fergal’s Church Camross eircode R32VY79, arriving at 8.0’clock (via Cardtown). Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning August 5th at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Noel Colman Young
Newpark, Portlaoise, Laois/Dunmanway, Cork
Noel Colman Young, Newpark Portlaoise Co. Laois and late of Dunmanway Co. Cork. Died August 1st 2025. Peacefully in the tender care of the Matron and staff at Shaen Hospital. Predeceased by his son Gavin. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Ann, sons Brian and Neil, daughter Sophie, grandchild Joseph and his mother Clare, brother, sisters, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Monday August 4th from 6:30pm until 8pm with rosary at 7:30pm. Requiem mass on Tuesday at 11am in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.
