Fisherstown Tractor and Truck Run raise over €55,000 for cancer charity

The always-popular Fisherstown Tractor and Truck Run have completed another sensational event, raising over €55,000 for charity.

Organisers presented a cheque for €55,517 to members of the Oncology Clinic at St James’s Hospital, Dublin, at a recent event in The Final Furlong pub in Ballybrittas.

The Clinic provides services for patients with cancer, facilitated by the development of newer services, including molecular diagnostics, PET/CT scanning and on site radiation therapy.

The service aims to enhance the quality of life for patients and reduce cancer-related deaths by improving cancer therapies through research.

This latest fundraiser brings the total amount raised by the Fisherstown group to over €100,000 in the last two years alone, with the proceeds going to very worthy cancer charities.

In December 2024, the group raised €53,000 for the Cuisle Centre in Portlaoise.

“Each year we are blown away by the support of the local community, and each year the figure continues to raise,” organisers said.

“We would like to thank each and every person who supported this cause, whether it be attending on the day, contributing a spot prize, or making a donation, all support is greatly appreciated.

“We look forward to next year – roll on 2026.”
