Lower Boley, Abbeyleix, Laois/Cappamore, Limerick
Caroline Bergin (née Fleming), Boley Lower, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois and formerly of Dromsally, Cappamore, Limerick, and late of Mulcair Veterinary Clinic Cappamore passed away peacefully on Tuesday 12th August 2025.
Caroline passed away after a short illness bravely borne, surrounded by her loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of the Intensive Care Unit in St. James’s Hospital, Dublin.
Predeceased by her father Jimmy and her recently deceased father-in-law Charlie. Deeply regretted by her loving and devoted husband Charlie, mother Phyllis, mother-in-law Patricia, sisters Siobhan, Philomena and Liz, sisters-in-law Margaret Mary, Deirdre and Emer, brothers in law Ger, Fergal, Damien, Michael, David, Noel and Mark, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Caroline will repose in St. Brigid’s Church, Shanahoe eircode R32AH90 on Friday 15th August from 5.0’clock concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Arriving for Requiem mass in St. Brigid’s Church, Shanahoe at 12 noon on Saturday 16th August 2025, followed by Interment afterwards in Shanahoe Cemetery.

Edward (Tom) Chambers
Clonin, Mountrath, Laois
Tom passed away peacefully in Villa Marie Nursing Home Roscrea on Wednesday the 13th of August 2025.
Predeceased by his parents Timothy and Elsie, his brother Billy and his sisters Jane, Fanny, Bella, Florrie and Mary.
Tom will be sadly missed by his nephew Joe, nieces and nephews in England, close friends and neighbours along with his wider circle of friends.
Reposing in his home in Clonin, on Friday evening 15th of August from 7.00pm with prayers at 8.00pm.
Funeral Service on Saturday the 16th of August in St Jude’s Church Annatrim eircode R32Y060 at 4.00pm followed by burial in adjoining Churchyard.
House private Saturday morning please.
Elizabeth (Betty) Delaney (née Rowan)
Glasna, Wolfhill, Laois, R14YP66/Athy, Kildare
Peacefully, at her home on the 12th August, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Jim and daughter Freida. Betty will be sadly missed by her loving sons Anthony, James and Patrick, daughters Majella, Margaret and Anne, daughters-in-law Catherine and Ann-Marie, sons-in-law Pat, Paul and Tomás, sister-in-law Bridgie, grandchildren Stephen, Rachel, Niamh, Róisín, Caoimhe, Jak, Conor, Eoin and Padráig, great-grandchildren Donnacha, Grace and Arron, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Reposing at her residence (R14 YP66) on Thursday (August 14th) from 2pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning (August 15th) to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Wolfhill for Requiem Mass at 12.15pm, (see link ballyadamsparish). Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. House private on Friday morning please.
James (Sheamie) Dillon
6 Woodview, Stradbally, Laois
The death has occurred of James, better known as Sheamie Dillon, 6 Woodview, Stradbally, Co. Laois, peacefully on 12th August 2025 in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents William and Elizabeth, his wife Carmel, sisters Manie (Mary), Ellen and Margaret, brothers Billy, Johnny, Tony, Joe, Paddy and Richard.
Sheamie will be forever loved and sadly missed by his daughter Louise, son David, grandchildren, great-grandson, daughter-in-law Siobhán, son-in-law Cathal, sisters Betty and Shiela, brothers Stephen and Dermot, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours and his many friends.
Reposing at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from 4pm on Wednesday with recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday at 12 noon in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally and afterwards Sheamie will be laid to rest in Oakvale Cemetery.

Tom Deegan
Harbour Street, Mountmellick, Laois
Tom Deegan Harbour Street Mountmellick died August 10th peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Tom (better known as The Digger Deegan (Retired Officer Irish Prison Service).
Pre deceased by his parents Lil and Jim Deegan, his brother Jack, his brothers in law Martin Walsh and John Moore, sister-in-law Mary Deegan, his niece Michelle and nephews Brendan and Kevin.
Deeply regretted by his loving wife Collette, his daughters Melissa, Rebecca and Krystal, his sons Trevor and Niall, his son-in-law Joe and daughter-in-law Carrie, his grandchildren Ciara Rose, Joe, Ben, Charlotte, Alex, Rosalei, Sarahlee and Ricardo, his brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, his aunty Kathleen, nieces and nephews, his best friend Philip Stewart, his many friends and good neighbours.
Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick on Tuesday from 5pm. Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Remoaval from his home on Thursday morning at 10.20am arriving to St Joseph’s Church, Mountmelllick for 11am Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Palliative Care (Laois Branch). House private on Thursday morning.
