Grainne Delaney, Aimee Collier, Kaylee O’Keeffe, Susie Delaney and captain Clodagh Tynan were outstanding as Laois claimed their second ever title at this level and their first since 2015.

Ballylinan, who had an eight-point win over Timahoe, have four players included while there are three from Kilcavan, two from Annannough and one from Portlaoise.

12 clubs are also represented in our second Laois Shopping Centre SFC team of the week for 2025.
Graiguecullen, Portlaoise and Arles-Killeen are the only clubs with two representatives following their Round 2 wins.

Gareth Sheridan announced his intention to run over the weekend, will officially launch his campaign today – and will have the backing of Laois Councillor Aisling Moran.

Stradbally Community Choir have been confirmed as one of the main acts on the line up.
8 – Laois family raising money for treatment to ‘significantly improve’ their daughter’s quality of life
A Laois family have set up a GoFundMe page in the hope of raising the money needed to provide their daughter with treatment that would “significantly improve her quality of life.”
Zophia Ounnar, who lives in Portlaoise, is nearly 11 years old. She lives with non-verbal autism and struggles in many ways with day to day life, including with her mental health, which stems from her inability to communicate.
9 – Laois SFC: Carroll the hero as Portlaoise strike at the death to edge out St Joseph’s again
Benny Carroll was the match winner as his punched point in the 63rd minute sent Portlaoise through to the quarter finals of the Laois SFC.
The forward came in along the endline and punched the ball over the bar to bring a contest that was largely forgettable to and end and leave Portlaoise smiling.
10 – Fisherstown Tractor and Truck Run raise over €55,000 for cancer charity
The always-popular Fisherstown Tractor and Truck Run have completed another sensational event, raising over €55,000 for charity.
Organisers presented a cheque for €55,517 to members of the Oncology Clinic at St James’s Hospital, Dublin, at a recent event in The Final Furlong pub in Ballybrittas.
