In Pictures: Five lucky acts selected to perform at Electric Picnic via Electric Youth

Electric Picnic have announced the winners of their recent ‘Electric Youth’ competition.

The Youth Work Ireland Laois, Electric Youth final took place in the Dunamaise Arts Centre recently.

Such was the volume of entries, that a semi final was also required this year.

In the end, five acts were selected to perform at this year’s festival including two from Laois.

The Controversy from Portlaoise and Dance on Stage from Mountmellick impressed the judges.

The Controversy are comprised of Erin Byrne, Adam Reilly, Aidan Dermody and Neive Lealth.

While Ruth Rawlinson, Roisin Rawlinson, Sarah O Baro, Olivia Falade, Amber Owens, Lily Donohoe, Lacey Dent, Amerah Bennett, Katie Dunne and Alexis Kelly make up Dance on Stage.

Cathy McKenny from Monaghan, Copa from Athlone (made up of Jack Flynn, Erin Byrne, Nathan Quigley and Antonio Quinn Canton) and Kendall Moody from Wicklow were the other successful acts.

They will be playing on the Hazelwood Stage on the Saturday and Sunday of the Picnic.
