History has been made this evening as Laois has won the Rose of Tralee for the first time ever!
Katelyn Cummins has just been announced as the winner of the 66th International Festival.
From Ballyouskill, Katelyn appeared in part two of the show this evening.
She was interviewed by Kathryn Thomas and then jived with her escort Tommy Meade from Meath.
A dairy farmer, Katelyn is an apprentice electrician working for Alpha Drives in Portlaoise.
Speaking immediately after being crowed the winner, Katelyn said: “It feels like a dream.
“I’d like to thank my mam and dad, Lynn Maloney, Steve Cromly – you have all been absolutely amazing.
“Plus the 31 girls standing behind me.”
