Laois SHC: Round 5 games to go ahead in original dates while knockout details confirmed in lower grades

The deciding Round 5 ties in the Laois SHC will go ahead in their original scheduled dates and won’t be played at the same time, despite each game having a potential impact on all the others.

Laois GAA have confirmed the fixture list for the Round 5 senior games, as well as the quarter-finals in the two intermediate grades, semi-finals in the various Junior competitions and selection of relegation deciders.

All five senior games will be played in O’Moore Park across the weekend of September 6. It’s believed there was no major desire from the clubs to move what was originally set out in the fixture list.

Neighbours The Harps and Clough-Ballacolla meet on Friday night while the Saturday double header features Abbeyleix v Camross and Portlaoise v Rathdowney-Errill. The Sunday double header includes Rosenallis v Borris-Kilcottton and Castletown v Ballinakill.

While the weekend of Electric Picnic will be entirely free of games, there will be some hurling championship games on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the week leading into it.
