It was standing room only in Ballyouskill at the weekend as Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins held her official homecoming.

Katelyn made history last Tuesday as she was crowned Rose of Tralee – the first ever winner to represent Laois.

After a whirlwind week, she came out on top and impressed the judges most.

Among the crowd in attendance at the homecoming on Saturday were other Roses who competed against Katelyn in Tralee.

They, along with a number of escorts, formed a guard of honour to welcome Katelyn into the village – led by a pipe band.

Laois County Council Caothaoirleach Barry Walsh took to the stage to welcome Katelyn home.

While Independent Councillor Ollie Clooney also spoke with his usual pride, wit and charm.

While present of the IFA, Francie Gorman, was also there to make a presentation to Katelyn.

Photographer Michael Scully was present at the event and captured some great images.
