Electric Picnic coverage is brought to you in association with Ramsbottom’s Portlaoise
The winner of the second ever LaoisToday QuizCast live from Electric Picnic has been crowned.
LaoisToday made our debut in the Ah, Hear tent in Mindfield last year and returned again on Friday afternoon.
It was a proud occasion once again for LaoisToday to be on stage during the iconic festival.
The final was another epic encounter with Clonad’s David O’Brien and Colin Delaney crowned champions.
In a change to the format from last year, we went with a team event this year.
Courtwood, Clonad and Portlaoise were represented and they battled it out.
Brian Hogan and Aoibhe Byron represented Courtwood, Colin Delaney and David O’Brien were with Clonad while twins Ross and Conor Dunne were there for Portlaoise.
The show opened as members of the All-Ireland winning Laois camogie team joined host Steven Miller on stage for a chat.
After that, the competition began with three rounds of questions and after which, Delaney and O’Brien progressed to the final.
We had a playoff then between Courtwood and Portlaoise with the Courtwood team prevailing to keep Brian Hogan’s chances of a three in a row alive.
It was down to the lists then where Courtwood took the first one.
Clonad won the second which set up a nail biting tie breaker.
The question was ‘How many Kilometres are there between Rathdowney GAA and Portarlington GAA’.
Clonad guessed closer and were crowned the winners for the first time.
We will have pictures from the quiz shortly and we’ll also have full audio.
