Day 1 of the 2025 edition of the Electric Picnic proved a massive hit as the sun shone and the crowds reveled.

80,000 people are now in Stradbally Hall and the festival is most definitely in full swing.

Friday was a massive day for everyone in LaoisToday as our QuizCast took place for a second year.

Despite the earlier start, the Ah Hear Podcast stage was packed by the time it all got going.

The action began with members of the Laois Camogie team joining Steven on stage for a chat and a warm up quiz.

After that, contestants from Clonad, Courtwood and Portlaoise went head to head in a battle.

In the end, and only after a tiebreaker, the Clonad team of David O’Brien and Colin Delaney were crowned the winners.

After the excitement of all of that, the LaoisToday team headed around the site to capture some pictures.

Main acts on the Main Stage yesterday included Chappel Roan and Hozier who drew massive crowds.

Photographer Paul Dargan was out and about on Friday and captured some brilliant images.
