Eimear Corri-Fallon will line out in the second row for Ireland in the crucial Women’s Rugby World Cup against Spain in Northampton on Sunday August 31 at 12 noon.
Should Ireland beat Spain they will automatically qualify for the quarter finals in Exeter.
Ireland began their campaign last week with a big victory over Japan.
New Zealand, who are also in Ireland’s group, triumphed against Spain with both teams securing a bonus point win.
Should both sides win again, they both qualify and will face each other in the final group game to decide who finishes in top spot.
Eimear has had a busy three months since recovering from a severed Achilles tendon playing for Leinster in the final of last year’s Interprovincial series.
Since June, Eimear has got married, gone on honeymoon, completed her intern year to qualify as a doctor in Tallaght, played in three internationals, including the world cup opener, and now will start in the vital Spanish match.
Eimear’s school, Scoil Chríost Rí, which now fields a girls rugby team, will be sending supporters for the next match in Brighton.
Her former club Portlaoise RFC have shown huge support with members travelling to Brighton also.
Ireland face New Zealand on Sunday September 7 after this with the quarter finals scheduled for the week after.
Let’s hope the Green Wave continues for woman’s rugby with a victory over Spain.
