Cedarwood Avenue, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny/Abbeyleix, Laois

Kay, in her 93rd year, passed away on 30th August 2025, peacefully, surrounded by family, in the wonderful care of the staff at Tinnypark Nursing Home. Predeceased by her beloved husband Tom, her sons Michael and Jarlath, sister Noreen and brother Seamus. Much loved mother of Brendan, Ann and Joe. Kay will be dearly missed by her loving family, sister Anne (Treacy), son-in-law Tony, daughters-in-law Mary and Trish, grandchildren Killian, Rachel, David, Stephen, Heather, Josh and Ally, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Johnston’s Funeral Home, John’s Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Tuesday (2nd Sept) from 5pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.30pm followed by removal to St. Fiacre’s Church, Loughboy. Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 10.30am. Funeral afterwards to Foulkstown Cemetery.

Mary Kathleen Kearney (née Davey)
Durrow, Laois/Stradbally, Laois

Mary Kathleen Kearney (née Davey), formerly of 24 Erkindale Drive, Durrow, Brockley Park, Stradbally and Newcastle Upon Tyne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Waterford University Hospital, on 30th August 2025.

Predeceased by her Husband Patrick, her brother Terry, sister -in-law Betty, grandson Robert and son-in-law Eamonn. Sadly missed by her loving family, James, Dolores (Young), Philip, Helena (Dunphy), Paul, Noel, Maureen (Byrne) and David, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Reposing at her son Philip’s residence, 34 Derrywood, Durrow, (R32V638) on Monday, 1st September from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Tuesday, 2nd September for burial at 11am, in the cemetery adjoining Holy Trinity Church Durrow, (R32CK11).

House private on Tuesday morning please.

Gurteenoona, Monasterevin, Kildare/Laois

BANNON, Phil (née Walsh) Gurteenoona, Monasterevin & late of Cappakeel, Co. Laois – 26th August 2025 (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by the Walsh and Bannon family. Loving wife of Jimbob.

Sadly missed by her children Nicola, Trevor, Tracey, Garreth, Seamus, Ruairi, Kenneth, Sarah, Gemma, and their partners, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, grandchildren Chloe, Keelin, Robbie, Faolan, Rhiain, Aaron, little Sarah, Joseph, Stephanie, Gemma, Scott, T.J., Daire, Robert, John, Conor, Luke, Willow, Dylan and Finn, Oisin, Freya, Síofra, Daniel, Lee and Saul, great-grandchildren Bonnie, Breagh and Aidan, brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, her adopted daughters Caroline, Alison and Jackie, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her daughter Tracey’s home in Ballyfarsoon, Monasterevin, Eircode W34 RK58 on Thursday from 3pm with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal on Friday morning at 10.15am to arrive at St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church, Monasterevin for 11am Mass. Mass can be viewed on https://www.monasterevinparish.ie/webcam/ Funeral afterwards to St. Evin’s Cemetery, Monasterevin.
