A workshop focusing on Communicating your Hospitality and Tourism Business’ Green and Sustainability Credentials will take place on Tuesday, September 30 from 10am to 1pm in the Talbot Hotel Carlow.
The workshop is open to businesses operating in the tourism and hospitality sector, providing participants with insights and advice on how to communicate their green and sustainability credentials to their audiences.
In addition, the workshop will identify opportunities for growing your business, with a focus on sales through strengthening collaboration and embracing green supply chains.
This free workshop is supported by The CUBE Low Carbon Centre of Excellence and Laois County Council’s Regenerative Tourism Activator under the EU Just Transition Regenerative Tourism and Placemaking Scheme 2023-2026, and will be delivered by experienced hospitality consultants, The Innovate Room.
Speaking ahead of the workshop, Regina Dunne, EU Just Transition Fund Tourism Activator for Laois, said: “Tourism is evolving, and more people are looking for authentic experiences that are rooted within community, people, place and planet.
“This workshop is about giving hospitality and tourism businesses the confidence and language to communicate their sustainability journey, while also encouraging collaboration that strengthens Just Transition impacted areas as a green tourism destination.”
Caroline Hofman, Managing Director of The CUBE Low Carbon Centre of Excellence, added: “The CUBE is delighted to support this workshop, designed to support tourism and hospitality businesses as they work towards becoming more sustainable, resilient, and competitive in a low-carbon future.
“This workshop will offer practical guidance and expert insights on how businesses can reduce their environmental impact and respond to the growing demand for sustainable tourism experiences.
“We believe that sustainability and economic growth must go hand in hand, especially in a sector that plays such a vital role in our local economy.”
Deirdre McDonald and Niamh O’Shea of The Innovate Room, who are leading the workshop, said: “At The Innovate Room, we work side by side with businesses to help them articulate their environmental initiatives with transparency and authenticity – fuelled by data, driven by purpose, and grounded in community trust.
“We firmly believe that sustainable storytelling ignites innovation, strengthens credibility, and ensures alignment with the green ambitions of each business, resulting in narratives that resonate and endure.”
The Communicating your Hospitality and Tourism Business’ Green and Sustainability Credentials workshop is also an ideal opportunity for those attending the ITIC Conference taking place in Kilkenny on the following day.
Places for this workshop are limited and registration is essential through Eventbrite or by e-mailing caroline@cubecentre.ie.
